Hi there. This is the second MSI MAG X570 tomahawk I have had as the first arrived faulty, unfortunate but resolved easy enough. I had noted the tiny boot logo barely readable on a 49 inch TV on the prior board but hoped it was a part of the myriad issues it had, unfortunately the new board has the same quite fugly, scrunched up little logo.

Don't get me wrong, it's a minor cosmetic issue of no major consequence but on looking around reddit I'm not the only one looking for a way to replace it or at the very least make it a full screen logo rather than a tiny box in the middle of a massive screen. I want to see your logo blazing in red in full screen glory for example, rather than a barely legible tiny grey cube. Can a bios not do animated logos these days ? :o)

Like I say, nothing major, happy with the board, just a minor grumble I'd love to be able to change if possible. Cheers.

Well if you turn it off you get a windows one and yea it is not the best Logo the Dragon would have been way better. Use to be you could use a program to insert your own .BMP or .JPG file in to the bios file. I have not looked around for one yet as I was thinking of going hot Anime chick as the logo, if I find one that work will repost

Well looky but be warned you do at your own RISK Directions on Reddit The Pick of Anime swimsuit I selected takes up about 3/4 of the screen During Boot. Way Way Better

Please Note the Process will not work on 600 series chipsets and above

Only works with 500 and Under

EDIT
↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭
The logo changer has been updated I have been using this version for a while
I have it up on Dropbox

More information can be found here
Use the FW6 tool
↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭

I now have this as My Boot Screen

Moving to BETA/mod section. You're doing it at your own risk, and warranty may be void if MSI during RMA considers this as modification that could have damaged the board.

^ Well... as grateful as I am for that reply my friend, as nice paying customers can we get a clarification on that? lol, pretty please? little ambiguous. :o) If the entire bios code that controls all functions of the board is in tact and only the image is modified would they really invalidate it for that? If so, who do I need to bug at MSI to either ask for an official app from them to do it or for it to be a bios option. Currently its a bit like being sold a BMW and everything is absolutely perfect... apart from they used really horrible badges.

There is nothing to clarify. Modification whether physical or within software may void warranty. But it's up to MSI's decision in case you have to RMA the board and whether they deem it that your BIOS mod (even just changed splash screen picture) could have damaged the board. And that's the case for all manufacturers 🤷‍♂️
Also I don't think they will release any kind of app for that, otherwise they would have done this already ages ago.

True I guess but a shame that MSI do not let one do it via Dragon Center is why I had a FlashBack drive sitting ready to go justin case. I do remember it being a feacture with some boards many years back. As I used it often for my corporate clients so all there Computers booted with corporate logo.

It's a different story for OEMs and bulk order where some company orders 10k of same systems. But it's not my thing to excuse or explain why and why not. I've got my bootlogo modified, as my board has flashback function so in case of RMA I can flash original BIOD back and there won't be traces of modded version.

Ya new bios out so went with a New Boot screen A Halloween Theme this time around
Anime Bios 01.jpg

I also pulled the original boot logo off the bios and now know why it was so small and was quite surprised at just how small they went with it.

Posted on another thread on accident... I cant seem to get this to work:

I have used the reddit link posted to extract and change both logos, but neither show up, just black screen. Is there a specific file format? I used .jpg as stated by the reddit post, and tried both making identically sized images, and making smaller images. Have you used .bmp?

I see you have a b550m, I'm on a b350m bazooka, using 7A38v1LQ. I don't think that should matter, but maybe?

I figured it out. For future readers:
Make sure you used as basic settings as possible when exporting your .jpg. I'm not exactly sure which setting did it, but in GIMP export screen, and un-checking "Save Exif data", "Save thumbnail", and "Save color profile" and "Optimize", and changing to 4:2:0 subsampling worked.

I'll continue working with files. If i discover anything else, ill post.

Jpg set to to 800 x 600 format and about 60 KB to 150 KB in file size

I just use Windows Paint 3D to set the file size and save as Jpeg

Thank you! Sucks that changing boot logos are so difficult
Its not hard to do you just need to make sure you have you Flashback USB on standby just incase it goes wrong But I have done about 8 different bios so far and have had no problems yet but I all ways have the Bios flashback on hand when I do do the Modified bios flash.

And I all ways us the Bios M-Flash to preform the actual bios flash.
This is my current Boot logo

Took a look at the steps:
1 Acquire "AMI ChangeLogo Tool v5.0.0.2" from here.

2 Acquire the BIOS to modify. I used E7B89AMS.1A3.

3 Extract and rename the BIOS to E7B89AMS.ROM

4 Run ChangeLogo_v5.exe

5 Click "Load Image"

6 Select E7B89AMS.ROM

7 Click "Browse" below "Save Logo"

8 Select your new boot logo, It *must* be JPEG no bigger than 800x600.

9 Click "Replace Logo"

10 Under "Available Images" select MyOemLogo1

11 Repeat steps 7, 8 & 9

12 Click "Save Image As" and provide the original filename for your modded BIOS. In this case, I used E7B89AMS.1A3

13 Flash the modded BIOS as you usually would.

Why do I have to repeat steps 7-9? If I mess up I can use a a clean BIOS file right? Then flash it through M-Flash or will a regular flash work fine? Will that be a good fail safe? Lastly, do you have to change the boot logo again every time you update the BIOS?

Really like those anime images, sauce on that one?

You have to save the Boot logo three times

And yes when you update the BIOS you need to also redo the boot logos.

Only Use M-Flash to do the BIOS flash do not do it through MSI center of any other Windows based APP

I also use a 1280x720 Picture size format name it to something like Logo180.jpg the 180 is the bios version number this way I make it easier to keep all files I use for the BIOS boot screens in order. I tend to use a different picture for each new bios release.
You will get a error message but it works fine and you get a Full screen Boot Logo 800x600 will not give you full screen logo or the correct format for 16 to 9 ratio monitor

As to the Anime Pick I have over 2000 on the PC lot from screen shots and also from scouring the web.

There be lots of it just search to your content

Thank you so much for your help! One last question, is a .png okay? I was planning on using my theme logo with a transparent background but I could also just save as .jpg with a black background.

This is working for all MSI Bios?
I have this MOBO https://es.msi.com/Motherboard/MPG-Z590M-GAMING-EDGE-WIFI/support#down-bios

The original BIOS logo was this

The first time i power on my PC i though it was broken. I started to move some cables, i buyed another HDMI cable, i replace my GPU and then i uderstand that the logo actually is gliched.
I would like to change it but this tutorial works without affecting other functions?
