When I try booting my computer I am getting stuck on debug codes 30 through 33 and can't get to the bios. I have a Z790 Carbon Max WiFi II with a i9 14900KS that has been running fine until now. I have tried removing all the ram and installing only in DIMMA2 slot (each stick) no change. I have tried swapping out graphics cards no change. I have tried using the onboard HDMI connection, no change. I have tried clearing the CMOS and installing the latest firmware update (which I was already running) still no change. I can't get into the bios. Any ideas I can try. Thanks

SVET thank you for giving me the info on posting specs.

Hello!
1. try to check the CPU socket and make sure it doesn't have bent pin.
2. Reseat the CPU
3. Try to remove 24pin/8pin power from motherboard and clear CMOS and wait 5 min to boot up.
4. if problem persist, try to use Flash bios button to update bios again

Codes 30-33 - definitely if they are fluctuating (changing) in between those values - can be the CPU temperature after a successful POST process. Meaning, they are not an error code then, you just can't see the picture for some reason. What do the EZ Debug LEDs show? If they have all turned off again, then it means the board has passed its POST and probably the OS has booted already.

Also, when you say, you can't get into the BIOS, does this mean you can still get into Windows? Then the issue is that you can't see a picture in the BIOS, but if you pressed DEL to enter the BIOS and you see codes between 30-33, it means you are in the BIOS, but you don't see it.

TVs are notorious for not being able to show the BIOS in some circumstances. Then you have to try a different graphics port, if possible, or get a DP-to-HDMI cable, or you might even have to use a PC monitor to be able to see it.

About the BIOS versions: With your true 14th gen, it's obviously very important to use a recent BIOS version, since it was affected by bad microcode that would lead to deterioration of the CPU over time, until it becomes unstable. Only updated microcode in newer BIOS versions prevents that from happening. So hopefully the BIOS was already updated to a certain version before.

And then later, once you solve this issue of not seeing the BIOS, you can go by this, Guide: How to set good power limits in the BIOS and reduce the CPU power draw.

But as mentioned, don't look at the debug code display in isolation, always look at it in combination with the EZ Debug LEDs. And if the display is showing numbers that change between 30-33, then it's showing the CPU temperature, which will only happen if it passes the power-on self test without issue, meaning it would be in the BIOS if you pressed DEL to enter it.

I want to thank everyone for all the help. I failed at the first rule of troubleshooting KISS (keep it simple stupid). The HDMI cable failed causing all my issues. Cable replaced and everything works fine now. Again, thank you to everyone who tried to help.
