Why am I not showing the promotion upon registration for this machine?

It was purchased within the proper timeframe, and has the correct hardware.
With all of the requirements fulfilled should it not appear in promotions so I can get the code?

Newegg doesn't give it out,  the code isn't in the box...

Please let me know,  I specifically waited until the promotion was active to buy the machine.

From what I understand the distributor/vendor has the codes,  not NVIDIA.
That's why the MSI site having a link to the NVIDIA page for redemption is not very useful TBH...

The code is used to redeem through the NVIDIA experience software,
and they pay for the promotion but the distributor handles verification and dispensation.

There is no way TO contact NVIDIA about it (which is why that page isn't useful),
only about products they sell directly like founders ed. graphics adapters etc.

So it falls right back to MSI providing the code :|

So MSI also claims they aren't responsible,  it's up to the vendor and even though I bought it from a vendor that supports it,  they sell other vendors products and THAT vendor didn't support the promotion.

The best we can suggest in regards to this is to contact MSI directly. See : >>How to contact MSI.<<

But generally, if it's the distributor/vendor, that still isn't MSI. That would be the place you bought it from. That's who I would be contacting.

I did contact them,  it was useless.

Even though there is fine print, they still should not be able to advertise such things and not follow through.

If the promotion isn't provided by MSI, how can they follow through? How can they provide codes to a game when it isn't their promotion?
This is strictly an NVidia promotion. MSI may show it, but it's still an NVidia promotion.
I would talk to your vendor or distributor. It sounds like they shafted you.

Easily enough,  they could provide access through the promotions section of this website.
The same place you get other promotions,  it would be much easier than having individual vendors support the promotion or not as they feel like it.
It also makes a lot more sense,  seeing as they are the ones building the systems and branded graphics adapters.

Oh well,  it's not surprising really.

You fail to understand. MSI isn't offering it. If MSI was, then yes, everything you suggest would be warranted.
This offer is through NVidia. As such, MSI isn't responsible for it at all.

I do not fail to understand,  it seems I could say the same.
NVIDIA is offering it,  however they are not managing the code distribution as they aren't distributors.
So as I've said multiple times,  the distribution of the code should really be handled in the same manner as other promotions.
It would be much simpler,  as well as remove the chance for things like this to happen as all of the items would be eligible.
Instead of some random vendor not participating,  and people pointing fingers down the line saying it's not our fault it's theirs like a bunch of pre-K kids at recess...

Here is a simple diagram if it helps you understand   NVIDIA > MSI > middle man  > actual vendor > back to middle man  < - > NVIDIA  (in this case)
Cut out all of that by simplifying to MSI <-> NVIDIA as they handle registration and know who has bought their item,  and handily have a system in place already to process promotions.

I have found numerous other instances of the same thing,  people unhappy about the vendor not supporting a promotion because they saw it online and they didn't go through all of the legal fine print and make sure the vendor ensures the other vendor (middle man) has actually went through whatever is needed to be part of the promotion.

I understand what you're saying to be sure,  but this is just the point i'm trying to make is it's needlessly complex and therefore flawed and causing people a headache and they may even lose customers when people don't get what they feel entitled to (because of advertising).

Unfortunately that is precisely where you are wrong. NVidia IS MANAGING it. That is why you don't comprehend this at all. And why you fail to understand that it isn't MSI.

It's not : NVIDIA > MSI > middle man  > actual vendor > back to middle man  < - > NVIDIA  (in this case)
It's : NVidia => actual distributor => user => Nvidia (via the G-Force experience application)

That's where you're failing to comprehend. And it's why your blame and your discontent is placed on the wrong place.

MSI isn't a distributor. They aren't the vendor. They are the OEM. They are the manufacturer.
The distributor, vendor, would be sites like Newegg, Tigerdirect, OverclockersUK, etc.....

If this was MSI's promotion, they would have links to their own website to get the keys. As they've done on previous promotions.
That is not the case, at all, this time.

I too am having issues getting the Destiny 2 Redemption key. The instructions on the Msi Promotion page say that for the APAC region to register the card on the site which then GIVES YOU the redeem code. It shows up on the My product page as valid for the promotion and even links it to me, however unlike the xSplit and WTfast promotion listings this one does not give a redeem code underneath it. If this promotion is not being handled by msi then why provide details about the promotion on the page at all?

I already have a msi support ticket in and still awaiting a reply however I though that I'd weigh in on this thread
