Disconnects + more problems with RadiX AX6600 (GRAX66) Router made me returning it to amazon!

Just want to share with all here my experience with the MSI RadiX AX 6600 (GRAX66) Wi-Fi Router:

First: Why did i end up sending it back to Amazon?
RANDOM DISCONNECTS! -> The router loses the internet connection to my ZTE MC888 (which is in bridge-mode) every 2-4 days. Rarely it work's a week. When i go into the Web interface via 192.168.10.1, i am able to just click the "connect" button when i click on "Internet" Symbol in the Dashboard menu. Everything works fine then until it happens again. I told the MSI team multiple times that my ZTE Router works totally fine as i did not have this problem with another router before. also i can access the ZTE via web menu, it shows internet connection and i could not find any problem here. There must be some problems with the WAN/LAN connection in general and/or the DHCP IP Assignment.

Another indicator that the MSI Firmware is just a mess: If i login to the router, the Internet connection icon shows for a short time disconnected then connected. Yeah even if this should be just a "visual" bug, what a funny joke that i have exactly a problem here with random disconnects? is that just a coincidence? I don't think so....

More problems:
-> LEDs of the Buttons can't be turned off permanently. I was told to live with it and that's not possible to turn them off permanently as the router has to turn them on on every start. seriously? if you use reboot schedule like me and you have the router on a place where the light just disturbs, you have to press everytime the "LED OFF" Button on the device. I have no understanding for that sorry. Developers should be able to implement this within 1 day, nothing happened for weeks. so you know hat support you get here.

-> (Maybe) uPNP Problems in future as the option is missing?
With my games i had no connection problems but in GTA Online it showed "Upnp disabled". The router also has no Upnp option in the firmware? But upnp is advertised on the website lol! so... expect to have maybe here some issues too in future who knows...

-> AI QoS is near between worthless i think:
I expected a much more better ping and connection but also with latest firmware which says "AI QoS has now hardware acceleration" (seriously? until then it was not using the hardware correctly or cpu cores???!) during gaming it feels like some little laggy hickups are here and there. i can't really say it's smoother and without AI QoS i feel like the games run better. But OK i have not that much devices connected. Still i think, this feature is more like a gag!

-> Wi-Fi Range isn't really that great / transmit power problem on smaller channel-widths?:
Even the TP Link AX73 had a better 5G AND 2G range. so i really ask MSI: For what the big antennas? They are not any better.
Also if i try lets say channel 100 on 5GHz and i use just 20MHz instead of 160MHz channel-width i don't get a really much better signal. normally because of the less wide channel i should get about a -9dbm better signal in this scenario but that's not the case it's maybe 2dbm better. The TP Link AX73 also scaled here MUCH more as it should and i had the 8-9dbm better signal. So something wrong with the transmitting-power adjustment? I don't know but seems so.. or are the antennas really that bad just?

All in all this was a big joke for me and biggest reason that i send it back was of course: The disconnects all the time. That just sucks.

You should really think twice getting this router for me this was just a lot of headache .

Sorry to hear. I wanted to get one of those myself, but even if it would be free from bug it still doesn't have few features I need that my \most certainly not ASUS\ router has.

All I want is one that has VOIP so I had to bypass the MSI one for that reason alone.

Can't say this surprises me. Growing pains I suppose for MSI on a new line of products. Hopefully it gets resolved, eventually.

Personally, I'm using a \most certainly not ASUS\ router with Merlin custom firmware, and has 2.5G WAN and LAN ports, to match my 2.5G fiber connection. Needless to say.....I've been using this type of setup for over a decade with very little to no problems. Other than needing to upgrade the router once I got fiber, so I could utilize the full speeds.

Can someone please help me? I just received the MSI RADIX AXE6600 router and began following the initial setup via iOS app. I entered a new password and username, changed all 3 SSID’S (2G, 5G, 6G). As I pressed enter, the app crashed. I relaunched it and tried logging in with default login credentials (b/c app crashed without applying settings) and could not login due to “incorrect password/username” message.
I then tried the credentials I tried to create, but they also didn’t work. I performed a factory reset and thought I would try the initial setup via web gui. I was unable to login again as the error box said “incorrect password/username”.

I contacted MSI support and he had me unplug from power, hold the power button for 60 seconds, then press factory reset for 30 seconds. Technician had me attempt to login via web gui using the SSID printed on bottom of router and not the default username (admin) and password. That didn’t work. Then had me try the admin username and password printed on bottom of device. That also didn’t work. Then he told me to just return it to the store…I asked him if anyone else might know a solution because returning will be a challenge as it was purchased online.

So, with all that said, does anyone have a better troubleshooting solution for me to try? I really want this to work, but am worried I’ll need to choose another brand so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Bought my AXE6600 over a year ago now and even with the updated firmware I have problems with wi-fi. Every few days (3-5 seems to vary) the wi-fi will become unavailable (even my thermostat will lose connection) and I am not able to log into the router (even with hardwired) however the hardwired connections (TV) still work just fine. Ive contacted MSI support and all they say is to return it, I doubt newegg would take it back after a year.

Has anyone else run into this issue? And if so, has anyone found a way to fix it? 3rd party firmware has no options for this thing that I could find. It is getting tiring having to hit the power button every few days.

Im right in there with you, fighting alot of the same issues. Amazon won't take it back, and I have now exchanged it with MSI. New router same issues. Latest firmware.
