ok I am using windows XP pro edition and I just got the new MSI geforce 4 ti4400 video card and when I installed the drivers I went to display option and I saw "MSI clock" new option. I tried to click it and it showed me this error:
an exception occured while tring to run "shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL
"C:WINDOWSSystem32desk.cpl",Display"
I also installed newest drivers from www.msi.com.tw and same problem showed.

Please help me!!!
THANK YOU!!!

This is obviusly software problem.
Is your Win XP pro updated
When i instaled my i had those error messages every 15min until i update it (around 50MB Of live updates)

I installed the same VGA card and encountered the same problems with ..\desk.cpl

I tried to reinstall WinXP , but that didn't help. So i tried it on Win2000 and guess what - same error once more..

Also tried many different drivers without any luck ..

Same problem here.....when you click on the MSI tabs in display properties the dialog closes with an error talking about the "DESK.CPL" file.

I am running WIN2k SP3. I tried replacing DESK.CPL and no difference. I have put a couple of emails into MSI and talked to tech support at the vendor I bought it from. No help as of yet. Has anyone figured out a solution for this?

Also...I of course upgraded to the latest software v3 and always have Windows up to date. This is on a Dell Dimension XPS T500 MHz.

I am receiving the same problem when clicking on the MSI information or MSI clock tab in the diplay properties dialog box. I just recently upgraded my system to an Asus A7N266-C motherboard with my MSI G4Ti 4200-TD64. I have Win XP Pro. Before installing XP I wiped my hard drive with fdisk and format, but the problem has occured from the beginning. Has anyone found a resolution to this?
