I'm sure we've all thought of this and I'm surprised after this many firmware iterations that the panel protect feature still works the way it does. When you turn off the monitor, if a panel protect cycle was "due" then it will automatically run when you turn off your monitor, great. However, when it runs the cycle, it doesn't reset the timer. The feature runs every 4 hours by default, so say you postponed a cycle and have now gone 7 hours and 58 minutes since the last run. If you turn off the monitor, it will automatically start to run. However, the next time you turn the monitor on, it will ask you to run a refresh after 2 minutes. I think that every time the panel protect feature runs, it should reset the timer. Also, the firmware should have some intelligence built into it about running the feature even if it hasn't been 4 hours. So say it's been 3.5 hours since the last time it ran, if I turn off the monitor it will not run the cycle. Instead, it will interrupt and ask me to run it 30 minutes after I turn it on. If the monitor has been off for a few hours, and if it intelligently thinks that I'm probably sleeping because its 2AM and by tracking usage patterns, it should run the panel protect even if it hasn't been 4 hours. Anyway just wanted to pass that suggestion along. I'm sure the pop ups about running this feature are seen as a downside to buying an OLED for a lot of customers, and the more hidden and non-disruptive this feature can I think it would be better for everyone. Thanks.
