I have all RGBs (MPG Skira 500X case/Tomahawk Z490 motherboard/MAG CoreLiquid 360R AIO cooler/Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro RAM) connected through Mystic Light and they turn off when the monitor goes to sleep. Is this normal? I would've thought they'd only turn off if the actual PC goes to sleep..

Hi,

I get exactly the same on an MSI B550m Mortar - however, on my two MSI X570 ACE boards I don't have this problem.

It happened after an update to Dragon Center - prior to that didn't have any problem. I expect it'll be remedied in a future update of Dragon Center. (fingers firmly crossed).

Thank you. I was thinking that something could possibly be connected wrong. I also just worked out that if I use the dedicated button on my case to switch between led colours that way they'll stay on when my monitor goes to sleep.

I got the same issue with my graphic card (msi gaming trio 3070), I would like to keep the led strip on but it won't. I'm also using a msi b550 motherboard. I had no issue when this card was on my previous build (asus intel motherboard, same gpu).

I also am experiencing this issue and am upset there is no solution currently.
It should only turn off when the pc goes to sleep but it is not!

At the very least at least enable a toggle for the settings or implement some control over sleep actions in dragon center...MSI.
The worst part is after monitor goes to sleep it turns off all rgb for not only the case rgb. So, I have to force close all lighting services and restart them to be able to control again since all RGB gets turned to the off state with no override.

MSI can we get an update on this issue or if it’s being addressed in future versions of dragon center.

Funny!

I thought that this was not a problem and that it was a shutdown feature through the S5 state that exists in the most current mainboards.
Could MSI confirm whether it is a problem or not? Because I really enjoyed this feature.
If it is a feature, could they create control options for the desired state of the majority and this new state? As I said, I liked it a lot.

I also had this problem. Leds turned off with the screen. MAG B550M MORTAR. Also started to happen after an MSI dragon center update i believe.
Finally figured out a solution. Turned off all MSI startup programs (in CCleaner, Tools->Startup->Windows Services). Then deactivted and stopped all the MSI tasks under the windows task scheduler (win+r -> taskschd.msc). There is probably one or two spesific ones for just the LEDS, but i just turned off everything MSI related and now the leds stays on even with the screen off :-)

Edit: while it worked fine for 4 days (pc is almost always on, day and night all year), the leds turned off again.. need to look more into it :-)

Does that interfere with gaming mode or any dragon center performance modes like balanced vs silent when playing games, for example?

Since the update on Dragon Center i did yesterday it causes huge lag in game for me, i needed to run Dragon Center as admin to make the SDK work.
Then it downloaded a AMD file on my PC but i havent anything AMD.. Running Intel and RTX 3070 SUPRIM X..
After trying to reinstal Dragon it went worse... No more Mystic Light in the menu and bios pop ups from a missing AMD component that instantly vanishes and pops back up... This causes huge Shutter lag when im playing games and my RGB MOBO/SCREENS/GPU goes Rainbow by default.. This software i sooooo U-S-E-L-E-S-S and disgusting. Why they dont make a clean simple WORKING interface...

apparently I found a workaround, I connected my PC to my TV yesterday via HDMI. Now the msi AIO and msi graphic card lights stay on when my PC monitor goes to sleep.
Edit : this was apparently caused by my logitech k400+ usb dongle .. don't ask me why ...

Okey, so whats need to be done is:
- Open dragon center and set the colours you want.
- Exit dragon center completely
- Kill the LEDKeeper2.exe process
- Set the value to "ON" for these to register keys:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\MSI\One Dragon Center\Component\Mystic_Light\LED\DisplayPower
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Wow6432Node\MSI\MSI Center\Component\Mystic Light\LED\DisplayPower

Now the lights stay on when the screen is off.

Made a program to do everything automaticly in c++, here is the source code if anyone wants to compile it themself:

I have an MSI Z590 Gaming Carbon WiFi. There is no longer a Dragon Center there. It's called MSI Center there. When I try to change the registry entry "Displaypower" to ON, this value is not saved. So that doesn't work either. The IO Cover, PCH and JRainbow 2 (AiO Water / Fan) light up on my board. When my monitor goes into standby everything goes off except for PCH. That stays on. Even if I delete all of the software now, I can't get rid of it. The RGB always goes out with the monitor.

Then there is the fact that for some reason the colors change to rainbows.

Update:
I was able to limit the problem and partially solve it. You need the tool "Autoruns for Windows" start as Admin search for MSI.
\ MSI Task Host - LEDKeeper2_Host - and restart your PC. MSI Center must not start in Autostart. Then double-click on the MSI Task Host and you will automatically be taken to the task scheduler. Search in the Library to MSI Task Host LEDKeeper2_Host and stop or disable the task.

If someone knows how to do it better, please write here.

I still have one problem, my set color simply changes to standard rainbow at some point. Does anyone know why?

Do you mean that the IO Cover, PCH and JRainbow 2 (AiO Water / Fan) all change to rainbow RGB effect when the monitor goes to standby mode? Or it happens after awaking from Sleep or Hibernate?
MSI Center v1.0.14.0?

A newer version of MSI Center v1.0.15.0 is out, how about giving it a try? Also, the latest Mystic Light module is 2.0.0.09.

The new version is a catastrophe. The RGB light doesn't even come on after the monitor is in standby. I have to restart the PC so that the RGB works again. Otherwise this version 1.0.15.0 is absolutely unstable.

I was in contact with support and they told me that a fix was coming out soon. I sent a video of what was being sent to Taiwan and they were able to repress the bug and tell me it would be fixed.

Without the video, they wouldn't have believed me. I'll buy my next board from ASUS.

Yeah. I installed MSI Dragon Center once about 3 months ago. Never again. Thankfully I've also done a clean install of Windows 10 since then.

My last two generations of PC's have used MSI boards, so I don't have any experience with how the utility programs of the other motherboard brands are. But the brand I'm tempted to use next is Gigabyte. I like the look of their apps and like that they are designed around the "app center" where you specifically can install just the utilities you want.

Any updates on this ? I made the mistake of reinstalling Mystic Light and I have this issue since... Even rebooting the PC doesn't turn on the RGB, I have to do it in Mystic Light

I'm having this exact same problem.. RGB lights go out when monitor goes to sleep, which wouldn't be so bad if they came back on when the monitor comes back but they don't!
And, all my lights (except RAM) change to default/rainbow randomly.

I've got to the point where I've actually turned all my RGB lights off for now.. has anyone got a fix or know when one is coming? I'll also reach out to MSI support.
