I have been using E350IA-45 for nearly 8 years in my HTPC system with integrated graphic card. I wanted to power my HTPC with GT 1030 AERO ITX 2GD4 OC because of HEVC support. Unfortunately i couldn't pass the booting screen while the GT 1030 AERO ITX 2GD4 OC is mounted. While boot sequence or trying to enter the BIOS it is always stucking with B2 code at right bottom. What i have tried to solve this issue;

I replaced the 400W PSU with a 600W; nothing changed.

I cleared CMOS; nothing changed.

I removed all HDDs; nothing changed.

I didn't updated the BIOS because it is running with the latest version 1.5.

I mounted another graphic card (Palit GT 430) and the system is working without problem.

I tested GT 1030 AERO ITX 2GD4 OC on another PC; it is working.

I didn't have chance to test the system with another GT 1030 card.
It seems that everything is working without any problem but E350IA-45 and GT 1030 AERO ITX 2GD4 OC can not work together. :(
Is there any solution for this issue?

Hi

The board supports only legacy cards, whereas modern cards don't tend to work on legacy systems and require UEFI support.
If you need some GPU, you'd have to get something from gtx400/500 series.

Hello Nichrome,
Thank you for your quick response but this board also supports UEFI and my OS is installed with UEFI option. My BIOS version is 1.5 and UEFI BIOS version is 1.2 at the moment.

That's interesting, didn't see that info.
It could be some other compatibility issue, likely to be on the side of microcode.
Are you able to test any other modern card in your system? GT430 is pretty old so I don't think it's a good example.

I have tested GT 1030 on a Gigabyte EP45-UD3LR (Socket 775) which is older than E350IA-45 and worked without any problem. I also installed N560GTX-Ti Twin Frozr II/OC to E350IA-45 and i worked without any problem too. A friend of mine has a GTX 980 but he is on vacation at the moment. I will try it when he is back.

Mind that AMD and Intel chipsets have completely different microcode. I have no idea why it isn't working, but apart from some compatibility issues...
Are you able to enter BIOS with this card installed? Or does it get stuck on something?

I can't boot or enter BIOS with E350IA-45 when GT 1030 is installed and the BIOS settings are set for PEG. When the system is booting it is stucking in a black screen ant the cursor at left top side and B2 is at the right bottom side. I left nearly 10 minutes but nothing happened. If i try to enter BIOS; addition to black screen with cursor and B2 code, "Entering BIOS (or SETUP, can not remember at the moment)" is writing at left bottom and stucking again. I left only the RAM module installed on mainboard and removed everything. I also switched to BIOS instead of UEFI to see if i can boot but it is always stucking in same window with B2 code. I know that the B2 code s related with graphic card. In normal boot sequence it displays "MSI TOP QUALITY & STABILITY" (!?!) logo in fullscreen when i press power button after 1 or 2 seconds.

I met a guy from a local forum who has the same motherboard with me. He told me that he also tried to upgrade his system with Asus GT 1030 (GT1030-SL-2G-BRK) and faced with same problems. It seems that E350IA-45 has some compatibility issues with at least GT 1030 series.
