Early chipset initialization, so what does it mean if it hangs there and won't boot? X(

hi

with this board mostley ram

what you using in what slots

try one ram in slot 1

try reseating it and shove extra hard

support the u/s of board with your hand

Ok the board locked up in the middle of a game, at restart the D-bracket LED's showed
G R
R R
with 1 long repeated beep.
I reset the CMOS but no change
The board ran great for 7 month very stable.
Win XP pro
1900XP
bios 2.4
Apacer 2x256 slot 1 & 3
G-force 3
It appears that the D-Bracket never even gets to check the ram, it goes right to the
early chipset init. thing
thanks
Jim

As i have written before, this motherboard also seems to be _very_ sensitive to the correct insertion of the graphics card.
If you are inserting a memory module or IDE cable at one end of the motherboard, the physical tension tends to move the inserted graphics card by a not noticeable amount. But this is enough. Removing graphics card and reinsert it correctly is the only solution i found. It did not help to just press a little on the card.

Thanks guy's it was ram.
One stick went bad. Now I'm the dumbo, I really should have known to check it.
Beaverpants, Wonkanoby, you guy's are getting pretty good. Also the video card reseating was good to but that, I already did. You know the board went out so fast I was looking for the D-bracket to show a code relating to the memory and when it showed the early chipset initialization i just jumped to the wrong conclusion. :O
Thanks again.
Jim
