Hello,
Since the moment I've upgraded the BIOS, I have this weird "problem" that really annoys me: after a while I'm not touching the computer (leaving it on) it goes into some sort of sleep state. This state i have not configured in power config in windows (it's configured as high power). When i move my mouse, or hit keyboard, it wakes up but it takes like a minute or 3 to 5 before i can do anything!?! In the meanwhile, my fans on my video cards are blowing max speed and i see the average powerconsumption raised from 525 to 650W.
What setting in the bios causes this?

What setting in the bios causes this?

An OS setting.  There must be something configured in Windows 7 somewhere.  The BIOS cannot put your system to sleep.

Doesn't matter.  You can configure the energy options to "High Power" AND have the system put itself to Standby after a certain amount of time:

Look in bios 'Power Management'. Probably find the reason there. Try setting Wake to bios rather than OS & disable the selections below it. When you flashed, bios needed a full reset. Did you clear CMOS (power cord removed) after the flash?  :-))

I say it must be something in bios because that was the only thing that was altered. It was immediatly after the bios upgrade. Furthermore, the cpu was overclocked during the upgrade. After upgrade it was still overclocked. I then put it back to normal settings again and the "problem" was gone. Then a day later, it came back.

I did cleared the cmos yet after upgrade...doing that and report back

Please re-check your Windows 7 settings for sleep mode (as indicated in the screenshot above).  When the operating system is running, the system cannot go to sleep mode because of the BIOS.  It has to be the OS that is giving the "command" to do so.
