Can you make a screenshot of the greyed out option in the BIOS? Press F12 to make a screenshot to a FAT32 USB drive (you might have to convert the BMP to PNG later to lower the filesize).
Attached.

I wonder since I'm using the latest beta BIOS if this option isn't greyed out due to that?

OK, just flashed the latest non-beta bios (V1.2), the one without 12900KS support, and I can confirm the option to disable the ASMedia SATA controller is also greyed out there, too.

Thank you for the screenshot. That's quite weird. It has to be some sort of B660 limitation. I mean, B660 only has four native SATA ports from the chipset, so they were forced to use an extra chip for six total ports, whereas on Z690 there are some boards which use all of its six chipset ports and some where they elected to go 4+2 like on your board. But then why do they only allow to disable the ASMedia chip on Z690? Oh well. Just don't use those ports and you should be good. The ASMedia shouldn't needlessly use too much power.

Yep, so far, no issues. Simply unplugging from those ports solved all problems.
