EFI BOOTING BEFORE WINDOWS

Hello everyone,

First of all, I would like to say that I have scoured the internet (and this forum) to find a solution to a seemingly simple problem and the closest thread to a solution is this one but I can’t quite understand everything: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?...efi-shell-after-installing-windows-10.368671/
It also seems that MSI computers seem to be more prone to this kind of issue for some reason.

Let me know summarize said issue:

I have received a MSI laptop without OS and I then proceeded to install Windows 11 which went smoothly but after the installation has been completed, the laptop still boots by default to the EFI Shell and I have to type exit (twice actually) for Windows to boot. In the BIOS, the booting order is set into Windows first which is the weird thing.

As I said, I have tried to gain some insight on the issue and understand better the boot process/EFI and from I have gathered the best course of action would be to reinstall everything which is ok for me (I just installed so nothing to lose) but I wanted to know if I can delete and format all the partitions and create new ones (I usually go with one local disk for Windows and one from the rest).

Natively, the laptop came with 3 partitions: one EFI (that I was afraid to delete), one free partition and one with the drivers on it. I split up the free partition and installed Windows there.

I now have three local disks: the C with Windows, the D with the EFI and the E.

I hope that I have been clear: is there a way to fix this easily? Either by deleting the D or by deleting all the partitions and reinstalling?

Thank you for reading everything!

Just format everything, make sure you're in GPT and Install windows 11 on formatted drive.
If you're worried so much about deleting, just by a new SSD and install it on there.
Don't forget to get your MSI drivers and utilities on their website, dGPU and iGPU go directly to their websites to get the latest.
