ethernet on my x870e not working

just recently my ethernet on my motherboard wont work iv tried everything i could find on the internet. the wifi is still working but every reset, reinstall or power down does not work im at my wits end looking up possible fixes. please help

Did you try the ATX reset? Unplug the PC from the mains and hold down the power button for 30s to drain the 5V Standby voltage line. Then plug the PC back up and start it.

I understand that it's just to be on the safe side, but the vast majority of today's higher-quality PSUs have a power switch. So why unplug the cable when all you have to do is "turn it off and on"?

Not all power supplies have the switch, the pulling the plug method works for all of them.

And the PC may be underneath a desk with the power button and plug in an inconvenient place.

A long time ago we had a quality psu, and the on/off switch broke after a couple of weeks. Now these things happen, and since the psu was still in the on position we left it at that.
So ever since I avoid using the psu switch, especially since most power strips come with an on/off switch also. Not that it's something I worry about, but much simpler and safer to cut power from. Pulling the plug is a sure way, I also use it for my other devices like isp modemrouter, which nowadays also come with an on/off switch.

Since I'll use that switch at most 10 times a year, I don't see any reason to worry about it...
Of course, I'm not forcing this approach on anyone; I'm just a little surprised by it.

Just because the switch is turned off, doesn't mean there isn't some power still flowing.

But then I don't see a single reason for it to be there at all. If it doesn't completely disconnect the PSU from the power supply, then there's no point in it being there...
I'm sort of an electrician, so I don't see the point in putting a switch like that there if it wouldn't actually disconnect the entire PSU...

What good is an active standby power supply if it doesn’t let me turn on the computer anyway? Or do anything with it, for that matter… I’ll just end up short-circuiting something on motherboard if I’m not careful

Of course, I haven’t thoroughly investigated or even measured it... But I still believe that when I install a mechanical switch somewhere, I’m putting it there so that it actually disconnects the entire circuit from the power... If that’s not actually the case with some PC power supplies, then it doesn’t need to be there at all. And it won’t unnecessarily confuse users.

I have the same issue. I have spent hours trying to fix it. I am about to take it back to microcenter for a replacement. I just hate that I have to tear the whole system down to do it.
