Fallout 4- one of my favorite games. I finished a play through and from saves seen most of the endings. As a fact I went back to a save before the Institute quests so to play on. Maybe later will end it and start a new game as a Raider drug dealer or something. I more wish to keep my game and settlements. I have over 3000 hours in and still find new stuff. I use no 3rd party mods. All stock with all DLC. I have bought some official Beth Creation Club stuff- skins- cribs- Enclave armor etc. So building settlements is not so easy- stuff does not snap together well or placement of items is not neat like some with mods have. Some that use mods have some really nice settlements. My FO4 game has the most hours on Steam- but retail disc games like FO3 and Borderlands I had over 3500 hours in them- and Stalker SOC like 7000 hours in it- both nilla and mod and is the only game I have ever played 3rd party mods. UT04 I had maybe 8000 hours in it- mostly MP TDM and the Rankin map. UT04 and Halflife2 was the first 2 games I ever bought and played starting back in 2004 and built my fist pc. I never touched a computer before then- and being disabled- I easy then and today can play 15 or more hours a day. I lost all my retail discs and my first MSI mobo system in a house fire. So I now have all of those games on Steam- but have way fewer hours in them vs what I had in the disc games.
I did not know the Beth Creation Club stuff is considered mod- I thought it was more DLC-ish. Well- let me go back and start with my Lap-top I bought over the 2022 holidays. I installed FO4 and for whatever reason cloud did not work right and carry over my saves- it made me start a new game. Later I copied save files from my older pc and manually transferred them to my lap-top. Steam cloud saved. I did not really play FO4 on my Lap-top so I seen nothing wrong. I was more installing games and programs and setting up and testing my lap-top. A few months later I built this new Desk-top and install Steam and FO4. The cloud installed all my saves from the lap-top including the saves I manually transferred before. On now my new 4K system and knowing Beth recently patched both Skyrim and FO4 with some new content and 4K- I really want to play FO4 in 4K. I fire it up and play around a bit and then notice some of my settlers had no clothes or somethings missing in my settlements and from the build menu. I remembered when started from save a quick like a tweet pop up- saying- somethings might be missing or not work- but it did not explain- it was mostly codes. I know before installing FO4 on my new system I had read some have probs with cloud and save- and said- if get a pop up and if the game starts and runs- just quick make a save and restart the game fixes it. Few posts today are in-depth with detail- maybe most are short minded and can only think or only post a tweet of a few lines or are lazy. The rest is left to guess or being born a mind reader or with god-like knowledge and just supposed to know all. Searching the net I could not find or fix my problem- and forums some just hang out like stalkers and love to flame people and really offer no help- if anything they are just running up post counts and run people off with genuine questions problems or complaint. Some can be called regulars or fan-boys etc. Just nasty for the most part. My mind going crazy. Searching the net and rewording my search in every way I can think of trying to fix my game so its just like- runs like before. I read reinstall mods- I have no mods- all my stuff is from Beth not 3rd party. Later I read Beth Creation Club stuff is mods. So I go into creation club and see stuff says I own. I click it- it says- INSTALL- Bam! I did not know I had to go through and reinstall all the creation club stuff. I thought it auto installed and or was part of the save file. It is no literature- or anything posted on the net or help etc saying you had to reinstall everything. I go to the purchased tab and click on and reinstall everything- my game is back to normal. All my settlers have clothes on- all stuff is where it should be. I am happy and the game runs and looks sweet in 4K. I have never yet figured out how to make 1 settlement bots 100% happy. I have had 96% but not 100 so I can get the achievement. Have done all I can- and read on the net- seen a few vids and still cant do it. Its not uncommon- glitched maybe- or some use mods to do it. I dont know.
I think my settlements are not bad for no mods. I put a lot of time into them and makes me enjoy the game even more. I love the large world- the lore and lots of quests- be it main or side and reoccurring. I do not much care for short or linear games. I skipped FO76- read its more a glitched work- and I do not much care for mp or paywalls or subscriptions. I will play 2 player coop with girl friends or sometimes maybe 6 of us might play Killing Floor type games. Strangers ruin most fun and if a mp game most hack cheat is why I stopped playing UT04. I got sick of them- and they are in every same type game- COD all of them. Steam with VAC may have less cheaters because they can lose the account and all on it. If they pirate or beg and or get free games they dont much care. Some games only the host gets rewards so that takes away from the fun or others wish to play. I have all of the Oblivian and have Skyrim but only like 4 hours between them. Beth sucks at melee mechanics- swing it takes like a second or 2 before your character reacts- so no- I pass. Beth gun play games are a little better- and I prefer guns and love the FO games or from FO3 on. FO76 is the only one I do not have.
