Fan controls not working as intended

Is it just me or are the fan profiles 100% bugged?

Fan 1 settings work as intended, mostly
Fan 2 is always at a static fan speed. The slider for the highest temp sets the speed its stuck at.

Not only that, but when I start a game the fans actually slow down to 4600 and stay there till I exit the game. Then Fan 1 cranks up to 8000 RPM and Fan 2 goes back to whatever static speed it was at before. CPU benchmarks do not cause this, I can crank up an instance of Prime 95 and Fan 1 responds to temps properly, going up to its max speed of 8000 RPM. I have a feeling it has to do with the "AI" function of MSI Center M overriding fan speeds or performance profiles.

Fixed the issue, wired both fans to the PWM output for Fan 1.

Having the fans able to run at different speeds doesn't make any sense for this device. They exhaust both over the heatsink AND into the common area between the fans. With this kind of setup the fans end up fighting each other if their speeds are not the same.

Can you provide the below information? I want to use my Claw to see if I have the same behavior. Thanks.
Do you have the latest BIOS(E1T41IMS.10B) and EC firmware(1T41EMS1.106)?

Which game do you play?

Do you mean AI engine mode is selected under User Scenario setting?

Which applications do you monitor the fan speed and adjust PWM output?

Latest BIOS/EC firmware (10B/106).
Cyberpunk, Palworld, Helldivers 2, etc.
The "AI" profile is NOT selected, using Extreme Performance profile with custom fan profile configured.
Not using an APP, measuring at the fans with an IR tachometer.

Resetting the EC by holding the power button down for ~30s sometimes also gives anomalous results.
In one case the fans worked fine but the EC thought the handheld was plugged in all of the time. Windows showed AC power, EC would not limit CPU power on battery, etc.
Another time the fans were stuck at max speed and you could not control them.
Most often though everything works except for the right side fan control being incorrect.

My claw initially had the right side fan not working, but after forcing it to run at high RPM in the center M performance settings and then returning it to the original performance settings, it now runs normally.

If I set Fan 1 and Fan 2 to the maximum speed, the real speed of fan 1 and fan 2 are 76xx and 46xx RPM.

I am not sure if it is the issue that you encounter since I do not know your advanced fan settings. If I select Auto mode, there is no problem.

The below steps are that I try to replicate.
1. Set Fan 1 and Fan 2 to the maximum speed.
> The speed of fan 1 and fan 2 are 76xx and 46xx RPM.
2. Play Cyberpunk 2077.
> The speed of fan 1 and fan 2 are 76xx and 46xx RPM.
3. Exit Cyberpunk 2077
> The speed of fan 1 and fan 2 are still 76xx and 46xx RPM.
I do not see the same behavior that you mentioned. I am not sure if the replication steps are incorrect or wrong advanced fan settings.

I am not sure how you got BIOS 10B. My claw with BIOS 10A and MSI Center M(1.0.2406.1301). I do not see the inconsistent fan speed behavior anymore.

You are seeing the problem. Fan 1 and Fan 2 speeds should be equal at 100% yet they are not. Fan 2 speed is also not directly relational to the settings in MSI center M.

I can get the fans to operate at the same speeds with proper MSI Center M control after resetting the EC a few times, but only when not on AC power. If the fans are working properly on battery, both go to ~7600 RPM but when connecting to AC power the fans ramp down to ~4600 RPM.

This problem has persisted since launch BTW, regardless of EC/BIOS version.

Will the issue be resolved after updating the latest MSI Center M(1.0.2407.1101)?
After installing the latest MSI Center M, I do not see the behavior. I think the issue is resolved.
