Laptop fan suddenly starts running at very high speed (8000 rpm) without me running anything on laptop. Its very annoying as it causes so much unnecessary noise. I understand fan speed should be around 1-2k rpm in idle laptop. Kindly let me know if anyone of you are also facing similar problem and how you fixed it.
 
I have already updated the BIOS. I can see BIOS version is the latest one. And I have recently installed MSI center. But the problem is still there
 
Are you checking the fan speed in MSI Center Hardware monitoring page and it shows 8000rpm?
How is the temperature at that moment?
You can also try to do EC reset.
shutdown the laptop and unplug the AC > long press the power button for over 25 seconds > plug in the AC and power on the laptop
If the issue remains even after EC reset, you would need to contact the service center for assistance.
 
Yes, I am checking in MSI Center. Temperature is around 50-60 degree C. I have done everything such as EC resetting, BIOS update etc. I have noticed that it particularly happens when I plug in the charger. I have shown it to service center guys once, but that time fan did not turn on so they just said everything is good. I will have show them again.
 
Kindly recommend to take a video and showing the MSI Center-hardware monitoring page on the screen to show the temperature and the fan speed.
If it is possible, download HWinfo and record the log when you are trying to replicate the issue.
