When I turn my laptop to Sleep mode, the coolers still run. I've tried it by manually putting it to sleep and by closing the lid, but the coolers never stop running. I'm using MSI Modern 15 with Windows 10 and all the latest Windows Updates

What is your power button LED status in sleep mode?
Update the latest bios and EC from msi website first.

The LED button is turned on in sleep mode. I haven't updated the BIOS or EC yet but I'll try to

Has someone else ran into a similar issue?

If in this case, your laptop may not actually enter sleep mode.
Go to power option > choose what power buttons do > make sure the action is applied to "sleep" when closing the lid.

I double-checked and it's set to go to Sleep. The same thing happens if I manually go to sleep by using the shutdown/sleep menu.

I now changed it to go to Hibernation mode when I close the lid for a temporal, not ideal solution. The fans don't run when in hibernation mode, but again, it's not ideal.

Have you updated the latest bios and EC?
Check the event viewer if there is any program block the system from entering sleep mode.
or try to reset the laptop factory settings.

I am facing the same issue with a MSI Prestige 15 I just bought.

It is really annoying manually putting the Sleep mode and having the fan stille making noise.

Any idea on how to fix this issue?

Update the latest Windows build (not 21H1).
Turn off all the running processes to make it idle and disconnect all the peripherals.

What is the latest windows build if not 21H1? I see this build from May 2021 is the latest one.

Apart from this update, ¿Do you mean I should stop all running processes and disconnect all perpherals everytime I want the PC to go to Sleep mode with no fan making noise?

I've tried everything - updating Windows, updating BIOS, not having any devices or processes connected (fresh install). This is an MSI issue - something with a driver maybe? They need to fix it. It's not specific to Windows or specific to some laptops or peripherals. The advice @Crazydonkey gives is appreciated and makes sense, but it doesn't work in this case.

So I think the only way of fixing this issue is if MSI decide to work on the issue. Maybe if more people contact them about it they will do something about it. My workaround is that now closing the lid puts my laptop to Hibernation mode. It sucks and it's a waste of time but it's better than having a running fan when it's on sleep mode

I am really disappointed regarding fan noise with the Prestige purchase. On "silence" mode and with no load is still making definetly too much noise but the worst part is this Sleep mode issue...
I would like to be able to manage the fan curve at least. I might return the product if still possible.

Some observation on the 15M stealth A11UEK.

Holding down the power button for about 1 to 2 seconds will put the screen off first.

Then the keyboard LED and GPU LED on the power button stay on for a while.

Then the keyboard LED goes off, the fan still runs for a while, then the GPU LED goes off.

Everything takes quite a while until all indicators on the keyboard go off.

Not sure what's the duration that you have waited for?

I think the problem may not only occur on MSI laptops, it's caused by Modern standby.
Old models won't have this problem. Seems like the workaround should be as you said.
Btw, have you tried to disconnect the network before putting it to sleep?

Which notebook do you have?
Cause not every notebook supports modern standby.
I'll start by ending all background programs before putting the system to sleep and see if the fan still runs.
Check one by one, you should be able to know which program or running tasks are the cause of all these unstoppable fans.

Personally not a fan of the InstantGo.

If you unplug the ac adaptor in sleep mode, do the fans still run?
If no, there is a very good chance you have a faulty motherboard.
If yes, try doing a "high performance" power plan from scratch and use when closing lid laptop will sleep instead or with power button.
If still yes, try this a last resort, disable C states in BIOS.
