Hello all, first time posting. I recently have started to notice my MSI GF65 10UE Thin laptop won't ramp the fans up while gaming. This keeps the temps sitting between 95-100 degrees consistently for CPU and 90-95 degrees for the GPU. I have always used the MSI Dragon Center that was preinstalled on them machine to control the fan profiles and it's not longer working, the RPMs remain the same. I have tried other third party software and no luck. I just reformatted the system back to MSI's factory default settings and it's still occurring. The only time fans will ramp is under Cooler Boost mode which is just not viable due to the acoustics.

Has anyone ran into this issue or do you know any fixes for this? It's a bit of a drag not being able to game cause it just gets too hot. Any help would be appreciated. I'll leave specs down below if it means anything.

16GB DDR4 2933MHz (upgraded from 8GB 2933MHz)

Edit: Cooler Boost is no longer causing fans to max out if I enable it, it just doesn't enable.

Do you mean the fan speed stay 0 RPM even though temperature is reaching 95~100 degree?
Do you have the latest BIOS and EC firmware?

Sorry didn't get this notification! So in desktop according to Dragon Centre my Fan 1 is at 2580 RPM and Fan 2 is at 0RPM (CPU + GPU), when I would stress out my components previously they would increase to like 5000 RPM each. Now whenever I play a game or compile something, it simply sits at 2580RPM/0RPM. The fan profiles cannot and will not change for whatever reason. This is very unusual behaviour as nothing has changed on my part. I also have updated all BIOS, firmware or drivers that would be related to this from MSI's website.

Hi! I know this thread is old but I have the same laptop and now facing the same problem, fans suddenly stopped working and won't spin even if I stress the laptop while gaming. Temperature reaches 95 C and still fans won't spin.

I've also had the same problem for a few days, my CPU fan runs between 2800 and 4000 RPM, but when I play a game the GPU fan doesn't run all the time, so the CPU fan tries to compensate by constantly being at a high RPM to reduce the temperature but the noise is very loud.
The CoolerBoost runs both fans with no problems. I don't know if it's the BIOS that causes this problem as mine is not up to date ?

Try to have the latest BIOS & EC and perform EC reset then check again.

Basically, fan speed is based on CPU and GPU temperature. You can try to record both data and share with us so that we can help you to define the behavior is normal or not.

The problem was solved when I performed EC reset.
