Hello, I am having trouble finding unbuffered ECC RAM for the MSI C236A Workstation motherboard. I need ECC as this will be running FreeNAS using ZFS which HIGHLY recommends ECC for the error correction. I will run this motherboard in conjunction with the i3-7100, which states it also supports ECC ram. I want to try to avoid Kingston if possible, as people say they aren't trustworthy. I'd rather have reputable RAM from Micron, Hynix, or Samsung. I've tried Crucial, but in the US every single 16GB ECC module that supports this board is Out of Stock. My friend in the UK had the SAME crucial part number in stock, from Crucial's direct website. I want x2 16GB ECC modules. I could potentially get it from Amazon or Newegg, but the listings on there seem so dodgy and they are coming from 3rd party sellers half the time.

I did some research and found memory.net, a place that sells server ram. The following part number MTA18ASF2G72AZ-2G3 made by Micron seems interesting. From the looks of it, it seems supported? Do you think I should give it a go? Of course when I get the DIMMs, I will fully test them with memtest86 on this motherboard. I hear memtest86 will even tell you if the ram IS indeed ECC and if it's working? :)

Yeah, I've looked at that chart. They don't test many ECC modules do they? :/ The ones listed on Newegg are mostly 3rd party sells, and specs seem doggy to me. Plus a bit too expensive, considering Crucial and Kingston show 16GB DDR4-2400 and 2133 ECC Un-buff at the ~$200 range. Just wish Crucial wasn't out of stock in the US, kinda strange the UK has em.
