Hey there!

just a small question... i got a MSI MAG271R @ Firmware 0.16 without that Auto scan feature.

Are there no firmware updates available? Would be pretty sad... it's annoying AF with that windows sounds.

Even with Autoscan off it still makes the sound with 016 firmware. I even flashed 016 again and even reset monitor (holding red nipple while plugging in monitor and using nipple to select RESET).

I've tried a ton of stuff. I finally settled on letting my screensaver run after 20mins until my computer goes into standby after 1 hour or I turn it off manually.

I also had 015 fail the first time I attempted to update.

The firmware update on the MAG274QRF-QD can only be done when using the DP cable?
Can I update it while using HDMI?

Either. You need to have the usb cable connected.
Of course the USB is a requirement ;)

I was in doubt about the HDMI cable scenario because in the oficial MSI PDF with the firmware update instructions it explicitly refers to "DP cable" omitting other forms of video connections.

About that: i think that someone at MSi got confused. There IS a protocol that enables users to set things in their devices thru HDMI/DP ports. But MSI is not using these, they do stuff using USB :)

Just confirmed.... Firmware update is not possible with HDMI!

The MSI software says it! Firmware update only possible with display port cable!

Are there any plans for making the firmware update possible via other methods? I tried to do the update by using my Macbook pro in PC mode with the monitor attached via USB but also monitor attached to Xbox Series X. Unfortunately I cannot update the monitor firmware because it says it meeds to be attached to a Display port. I do not have access to display port at all. Would a Display port to HDMI cable work for doing the update?

onnect (sound is that same sound) when the monitor is going to standby.
constant connect/disconnect sound. it also said that the update failed but it did update.
Having this problem as well, running the latest firmware. Can we get a fix for this in Win11 please, MSI?

Very annoying having it disconnect swapping sound devices etc.
