Having this problem as well, running the latest firmware. Can we get a fix for this in Win11 please, MSI?

Very annoying having it disconnect swapping sound devices etc.
I had this problem as well - the screen would turn off after 10 mins as per my Windows 10 power settings, but it would prevent the computer from sleeping because it kept playing the device disconnect/connected Windows sound. I unplugged the USB from the monitor and it still happened so I unplugged the DisplayPort cable and then it stopped making that sound.

In any case, I fixed it by making sure Auto Scan was disabled and the Power Button setting was set to Standby and not Off. I thought I had already set those settings via the monitor's GUI (not GamingOSD) but I think they didn't persist. I changed the monitor's settings and tested it by setting the Windows screen turn off after 2 minutes, which it did as usual, but I didn't hear the annoying device connect sounds! Yay! We'll see if it sticks...

make a new thread if you want to be seen. if not it's going to get buried here with the problem of the OP which is similar but not the same.

Hi, Any update? I just bought " MAG274QRF QD" today and I was check-in to see if it brings anything if I update the FW. It comes with FW v 019 I think. I checked MSI website and there is no fw to download there!
Same here, just got it today and went to get the latest firmware - nothing listed to download! I bought a refurbished unit from Woot, which is running FW.014

Hi,

I've bought MAG274QRF-QD monitor and since it has quite old FW installed (010) I would like to update its firmware.

So I downloaded the FW (020) and OSD (2.64) from MSI - installed OSD, followed SOP to the point, but in the end couldn't even load the FW file, because I got here well known message "File reading failed".
I tried all the advices mentioned here and in other places, where they discussed this issue, but with no avail.
Restarted PC several times, reinstalled OSD several times (even tried older versions), re-downloaded FW several times, changed all the related settings on monitor side and of course, it's connected via DP, not HDMI. Even disconnected second monitor (also using DP), just to make sure it doesn't interfere in any way. etc.

So, what are my options now? Should I just wait and try it couple of times every day now and hope, that some day it will just magically start working (as it happened for some of you)?
Or is maybe the FW version difference (010/020) so big, that I would need to first try to install some of the older ones? If so, where I could find them? MSI provides only the most recent one. But I don't think that's the case here. OSD has trouble reading the file, not the monitor - it can't even reach it at this point :-/

Or - should I not try to update both FW and EDID at the same time and maybe try EDID first? Because that's the only thing that OSD allows me to do - select the EDID folder and then it enables the button to Update, but I didn't try it yet, because I'm afraid that it could brick the monitor somehow.
In SOP there's a text "Please notice that is NOT always firmware and EDID should be updated at the same time Please check your model and update the file properly." , but such information is no where to be found. At least I didn't manage to.

I will be thankful for any advice..

Sorry, found the problem - seller actually sent me MAG274QRF instead of MAG274QRF-QD which I ordered, so that's why the FW file wasn't accepted :-/ (was trying to use FW file for QD)

Sorry for spam : actually, I'm still not 100% sure if they sent me wrong one :) . Box says -QD, SN on box is identical to what is on the monitor itself. In the back the "Model name" is 3CA8, which is unfortunately identical for both -QD and non-QD version, so that says nothing and "Marketing name" says Optic MAG274QRF, but I'm not sure if that's there also for MAG274QRF-QD or not.

If I have the right model, then I wonder why Gaming OSD shows it as MAG274QRF instead of MAG274QRF-QD and allows to load only FW update file for basic MAG274QRF

EDIT: Mystery solved, they really did send me the wrong monitor (and placed wrong sticker with SN on the box)..

When I load firmware for 274QRF then it lets me proceed, but I didn't try to run it yet .. just in case it's not messed up and I really do have MAG274QRF-QD as I ordered :D (I sent a message with pictures to the seller).

Thing is, this seller is selling devices coming straight from manufacturer (MSI in this case), but which were either returned, shortly used for a presentation or were stock surplus. So, this monitor was out of the box once before and I guess there's a chance someone made a mistake and put it in the wrong box (after all, they are almost identical). But even then - S/N on the box and on the monitor are the same, so that's still weird.
It's a shame I can't check anywhere to which model the SN belongs to (just to be 100% sure), because otherwise both monitors look exactly the same.
