There had been recent report regarding firmware update failure with the progress bar stuck at 1% and not moving further.
Try below workaround to fix/bypass the problem,
1. Unplug-replug monitor AC power
2. Find and temporarily disable Dynamic Lighting device in Device Manager,
Location: Human Interface Devices > HID-compliant device > Details > Hardware ID = VID_1462&PID_3FA4&MI_01
3. Proceed with firmware update
4. After monitor firmware update completes, enable the HID-compliant device again in Device Manager

This workaround only works for stuck 1% scenario. If you have firmware update problem with different symptom, it will not help.

I tried it, but it's still stuck at 1%; I just can't update it.

It's been over 1 hour and it's stuck at 1% and not progressing. I've given up on updating for now. Is it okay to unplug the monitor's power cord?
I am afraid that the monitor may not work because I received the "Do not unplug the power cord" warning before starting the update. I would appreciate it if you could give me information about what I should do in this situation.

Well, you have no other option but to force quit it. Did you turn off the dynamic lightning from windows? and possibly remove all unnecessary USB device? Does it still work now?

I had the exact same problem with my new computer. The only solution I found was updating using my old computer. It's possible that motherboards with newer USB connections aren't able to update the firmware. After the update, I'm still having the same problems with the display software: the message "The panel protect process did not complete" appears every time the monitor is turned on using the motion sensor. The shutdown time after inactivity is still very short (only 120 seconds). I'm very disappointed with this monitor; I won't buy MSI again.

Hello,

I am experiencing the same problem. I have been using the monitor for 2 months, but the update still cannot be completed and always gets stuck at 1%. Recently, when I perform OLED care, I also receive the error message saying that the maintenance could not be completed and that I should try again after it finishes.

Overall, I am satisfied with the monitor, but these kinds of issues should have been resolved by now. If no solution can be found, I will not purchase MSI products again.

Hello,

I own an MSI MPG 341CQPX QD-OLED X36 monitor.

Current firmware: FW015
Target firmware: FW018
Gaming Intelligence version: 0.1.4.6

The firmware update always gets stuck at exactly 1%.

I have already tried:

  • Latest Gaming Intelligence version
  • USB-B cable connected directly to motherboard USB3 and also USB2
  • Running Gaming Intelligence as Administrator
  • Disabling Windows Dynamic Lighting device (VID_1462&PID_3FA4&MI_01) and also Windows Dynamic Lighting itself
  • Unplug - replug monitor AC power
  • Waiting more than 20 minutes after stuck on 1%
Gaming Intelligence detects the monitor correctly and monitor settings such as brightness can be changed from the application, so usb works.

Could you please advise how to update from FW015 to FW018? I tried every solutions which i read on forums...

Thank you.

I finally managed to install the update.
Copy the firmware file onto any USB flash drive. Then, on the update screen, select the file from the USB drive and start the update.

The installation is currently in progress.
