Hello,
I’m having an issue with the function (Fn) keys on my MSI Pulse GL76 12UEK.
About two weeks ago, most of the Fn key combinations suddenly stopped working.
I completely uninstalled MSI Center, then reinstalled it, and the function keys started working again. However, about two hours later, they stopped working again without me changing anything.
Currently, the only Fn combinations that still work are:
  • Fn + F1 (mute sound)
  • Fn + F6 (camera on/off)
  • Fn + F8 (keyboard lighting)
All other Fn combinations (brightness, volume up/down, touchpad toggle, etc.) do not respond.
Additionally, Fn + Esc does not work.
Has anyone experienced this issue before?
Is this caused by MSI Center, the hotkey driver, or a BIOS/EC problem?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

This looks like a software-related issue. I’d suggest first checking whether those function keys work normally on their own — for example, pressing F11 to toggle fullscreen, or F5 to refresh a page — just to make sure the function keys themselves are fine.

After that, open MSI Center → General Settings, and click the FN/Windows key switch option. Check whether, after switching, you can use the Windows key in place of the FN key, and whether the FN key now brings up the Windows menu. Then switch it back to the original setting and check again to see if the FN key combo functions are still behaving abnormally.

If everything works normally but starts acting up again after using it for a while, I’d recommend contacting official support via the web-ticket to have them double-check it.
