Just a quick question .. I'm thinking about flashing my Infinite 10SA-1075CA (MSI OEM) with H410M PRO (MSI RETAIL) bios ...
I have found the Intel FPT 14.5.x tool that backed up my BIOS and created a 16MB file without any errors.

Am I correctly assuming I can restore this backup anytime with the Intel FPT tool ?

That's because your current OEM BIOS and retail BIOS that you trying to flash,
are build via different security mechanisms and your current BIOS do not allow flashing to non - secure/signed BIOS files.

You have to use the correct BIOS file for your board, check it with your OEM vendor.

Or are you intentionally trying to do a cross-flash to retail BIOS?

If the computer can boot is in working condition to reflash, yes.

That could be risky and brick your board, but if want to try it anyway at own risk PM me.

I have updated my B350 TOMAHAWK with the last 7A34v1Q7 (Beta version of 2022-07-15) and it was the bigining of the end !

Impossible to downgrade with the official Flash method by MSI.
But your little script saves my life (or rather my motherboard)

It work perfectly and it s very simple to use. (even with the B350 chipset)
Now i am on the last stable version : 7A34v1M ( 2019-01-30 )

On the other hand, the letters 'a' and 'q' are not a good choice.
I'm french guy with an azerty keyboard ( 'a' => 'q' and 'q' = 'a' )

Hi. i have a msi prebuit pc (modified now) with the msi z390-a pro motherboard, and that has the prebuilt bios installed. so overcklock does not work that well on my i7-9700kf. and i have no bios updates (last was in 2019) eb913ims.h30 is the bios. is it possible to flash the retail bios update to this?

Any update? i tried the tool but it wont work it says this. I have a similiar pre built except i swapped out the 2070 in it for a 3090 and new psu. I want to use resizable bar but i need to update to latest bios but it only wants the weird pre built pc bios instead

hi, what's your current BIOS version? can you share a screenshot of msinfo32?

Hi there, I read thru this thread and I'm not entirely clear on a few things and was hoping I could ask a few questions.
I'm new to MSI and pre-built PCs and recently purchased an MSI Codex R 12th desktop and as per the BIOS, the MB and BIOS Ver are listed as follows:
MB: PRO B660M-A CEC WIFI DDR4 (MS-7D37)
BIOS Ver: E7D37IZ1.1A4
BIOS Build Date: 03/31/2022

The Desktop support page doesn't list a bios update as available, nor does MSI Center.

However if I go to the support page for that Motherboard model (https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/PRO-B660M-A-CEC-WIFI-DDR4/support) the latest bios is listed as
7D37v17
2022-07-01

Now from reading this thread, it appears that the desktop MB has an OEM bios whereas the motherboard model is a retail bios. My questions are:

2) It looks like this is more risky than normal. Why?

to 1: Yes.
to 2: Because it's not originally indented for the unit and may cause side effects or bricking.
to 3: Yes.

if you want to flash it.

The retail version (H410M PRO) has received 7C89v1A.

This is completely different model.
