Or use special version for Blind Flashing only:
(It's useful when need to flash BIOS without display [but the PC can still boot and works fine] and performs auto flashing)
For Blind Flashing only: Forum UEFI Shell Flash tool [V1.32]

Short instructions for for Blind Flashing:
[prepare the USB key for flashing,[use the same steps to prepare it as above] then shutdown the PC,
and disconnect temporary any other storages except that USB key that will be used for flashing]
Then turn on PC and wait auto flashing to start and finish automatically.
[when blind flashing is complete the PC will auto shutdown,
then you can remove the USB key and reconnect the rest of your storages and turn it on]

Note1: Be sure to place only one BIOS file on the USB key at the time, before proceed with flashing.
Note2: Due BIOS flashing nature, (which consider every flashing as potential dangerous)
Flash and use at own risk as usual.

Note3: You can use it to downgrade the BIOS too.
Note4: You can cross-platform flash back to correct BIOS 32MB bios. (if the board been flashed to the wrong BIOS by mistake)

So you did it like this, right?

Screenshot 2023-11-20 at 01-56-13 Bios_Sw1 Multi-Bios Switch.png

But you also have a Flash BIOS Button, have you tried that? With the PC off, set the switch to BIOS A, then flash it like so (now i have to describe it after all):
1. Download the latest BIOS file from the MSI support site for your board and extract it.
2. Take a USB stick and format it to FAT32 (it's best for it to have a size of 32 GB or less). You can also try Rufus for formatting, as FAT32 non-bootable.
3. Rename the extracted (!) BIOS file to MSI.ROM and save it to the root of your USB flash drive / USB stick (not in a subfolder).
4. Plug the USB flash drive / USB stick that contains the MSI.ROM file into the marked Flash BIOS Port (!) on the rear I/O panel.
5. With the PC off, press the Flash BIOS Button, and the LED should start flashing for about 5-8 minutes and then the board reboots.

If it all doesn't work, i wouldn't flash it with an external programmer, it's too much hassle. If your BIOS B is updated to the latest version, just use that and treat your board like a normal one-BIOS board that also has a Flash BIOS Button. With that button alone, you should not need an external programmer, and especially not if one of the BIOSes still works.

Thank you for your reply! I tried this method as well, doesnt work!

Then don't bother, stay on the second BIOS. Assuming you don't plan to turn off your PC again during the next BIOS update.

Has anyone successfully cross-flashed an OEM BIOS to the retail version on a prebuilt MSI motherboard? I am attempting to upgrade an OEM prebuilt MSI PRO Z690-A motherboard (version 'E7D25IZ1.AA9') to the retail MSI PRO Z690-A BIOS (version 'E7D25IMS.AF0'). Im currently stuck on "Error: Secure Flash function is not supported on this file".

Hi @Svet

I'm wondering if you can help me out. I have a Trident X 12 pre-build that is using a retail motherboard, Z690I Unify, but the BIOS installed on the board is designed specifically for the pre-build and I wasn't able to get the flash tool to work to switch the BIOS to the retail software. I tried twice, first with the latest update and second with the very first and both times I got the 1e Error: Secure Flash function is not supported on this file. Thumb drive is FAT32 formatted and I followed the steps as directed at the beginning of this thread.

I'm 1000% sure that I am using a a retail board in my pre-build the serial# is MS-7D2921_M11B493767 so I don't understand why the flash tool didn't work to switch me from BIOS version EB924IMS.910 to E7D29IMS.1F0

I had already asked about this in another thread and was directed here after the flash tool didn't work for me. Here is the link to that thread https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?threads/wrong-bios-loaded-to-motherboard.391238/

I will also attach thumbnails of the BIOS showing the build version and my board serial # along with the two attempts I did with the flash tool.

For A320 if I remember it correctly it was working fine.

I'm 1000% sure that I am using a a retail board in my pre-build the serial# is MS-7D2921_M11B493767 so I don't understand why the flash tool didn't work to switch me from BIOS version EB924IMS.910 to E7D29IMS.1F0

Because it's a prebuild system and their BIOSes are using different security behaviours.
You can try to flash to older version, then to try to cross-flash to the mainboard retail BIOS.

Unfortunately there's only one version of the pre-build BIOS which I have currently.

Is it possible to do a full BIOS erase and then flash a new one or just a different process that can be attempted?

It's different process. But also will lead to specified BIOS's data lost. Like when flashing bios chip with HW Programmer.

It worked for me thanks a lot. But this time I can't overclock my cpu(ryzen 5 1600). I tried 3.6ghz, 3.75ghz, 3.9ghz and 4ghz all with 1.4V override setting and none of them worked. And when I check HardwareInfo it works max 3.4ghz sometimes 3.2 and below. When I benchmark in cpu-z I get 2600 multicore 315 single core score.(Ryzen 5 1600's reference 3100 multicore). What should I do this time? Is there anything that I can do or do I must upgrade my cpu?

Note:I was using 1050ti and upgraded to 1070 but this time i have cpu bottleneck(while playing cs and other games cpu and gpu usages are %30-%40 percent maybe below). This is why I try to overclock.

I have: Ryzen 5 1600 + Msi gaming x gtx1070 + 8x2 3200Mhz Corsair Ram + 500W Psu

Haven't find enough time to reply in details to each reply, been busy with next version that soon will be released.

Updated tool version to V1.36
* updated and patched 2nd flasher
* add support for B650 & X670 board Series
* applied different optimizations and improvements.

older version V1.33 and above can self-update to the latest one

Two questions:
1) I searched the thread and don't see any of the B760 boards being mentioned as being supported or not by the tool - specifically the PRO B760-VC WIFI in my system?
2) If flashing via the tool goes wonky (corrupted flash/computer won't fully boot, etc.) - can it be recovered by the tool with an older BIOS version file?

Hi I have a older MSI B360- A pro motherboard that has a beta bios from microcenter (2.M4) since it's a prebuilt board, and the latest bios from the website (IMS.2D0) isn't readable since it's OEM, my question is can I use this tool to crossflash the current bios to the one on the msi website? I also would like 9th gen coffee lake CPU support, I don't know if my board will work the the i7 9700 with the OEM bios.

Depends. What's current BIOS ver. installed?

It's supported

That's up to board's recovery capabilities.
