Short guide for now:
1. Run UEFI_Flash_Tool_Installer.exe
2. Select your MSI BIOS File ["Load MSI BIOS File]
load_1a.png

4. Click "Create USB Flash key" and wait to finish.
click_to_create.png

Next reboot computer,
and ensure in BIOS Setup:
UEFI Boot is allowed,
and Secure Boot disabled.

After exit from BIOS Setup while computer is booting:
You can press F11 during BIOS post/logo screen, then when BBS popup after a while,
choose the prepared USB key with UEFI in front as name.
i.e: choose to boot from:
UEFI USB your drive

then wait, and you will see the BIOS version shown that is going to be flashed.
and you can press a key to proceed with flashing.
If you don't want to proceed with flashing,
you can press "q" to abort at that point.

when flashing starts,
wait patiently to finish,
ensure successfully message on the screen then reboot or power off the computer.

Optional feature: [Patch AMD BIOS for CP_Flash]
This will allow cross-platform flashing to 32MB BIOS from 16MB BIOS for boards with 256Mbit BIOS chip.
The tool will auto detect if the BIOS support such feature and then will Enable that option.
[in a case when board was flashed to the wrong BIOS to help, restore correct BIOS]

Or use special version for Blind Flashing only:
(It's useful when need to flash BIOS without display [but the PC can still boot and works fine] and performs auto flashing)
For Blind Flashing only: Forum UEFI Shell Flash tool [V1.32]

Short instructions for for Blind Flashing:
[prepare the USB key for flashing,[use the same steps to prepare it as above] then shutdown the PC,
and disconnect temporary any other storages except that USB key that will be used for flashing]
Then turn on PC and wait auto flashing to start and finish automatically.
[when blind flashing is complete the PC will auto shutdown,
then you can remove the USB key and reconnect the rest of your storages and turn it on]

Note1: Be sure to place only one BIOS file on the USB key at the time, before proceed with flashing.
Note2: Due BIOS flashing nature, (which consider every flashing as potential dangerous)
Flash and use at own risk as usual.

Note3: You can use it to downgrade the BIOS too.
Note4: You can cross-platform flash back to correct BIOS 32MB bios. (if the board been flashed to the wrong BIOS by mistake)

EDIT: A video how to use guide made by user efmled:

Welp, looks like the board's bricked and I've no Flash button.
How do I find out what BIOS chip this uses so I can hardware flash it?

> Does BIOS update complete successfully?
It did indeed.

> What GPU you use? Onboard one or external GPU?
It's a 3200G and I'm using the iGPU.

> What debug code shows when you try to boot?
I don't have one on this board. Which reminds me, are any of those old debug tools you used to plug into a PCI slot any good these days? I wouldn't mind having one in my tool box if they still work.

Also, you linked me to my own post :D

I appreciate the help, but i had already tried everything (apart from an dGPU, which I just tried now) and the boards dead.
No LEDs or anything.
Pressing the power button turns on the PSU fan and CPU fans, that's it.

I wouldn't have went shopping for a BIOS hardware flash tool without trying all that first.

The only thing I haven't tried is different RAM sticks, but I unfortunately don't have anything small than 32GB DDR4 now. I sold all the smaller stuff recently due to the high prices.

Updated UEFI flash-tool version to V1.80
*********************

Changes:
  • * Fixed issue: Unable to flash ME-FW for Z690 Series
  • * Add new feature: [Skip BIOS Flashing]:
  • -Allow Flashing ME-FW only! For supported mainboards who uses ME-FW 14.xx and 16.xx Series

-- - - - - -- How to use the new feature?:

  • * Load the BIOS file for your board like usual.
If you want to update ME-FW only, (not both) then go to Tool's Options,
and checkmark [Skip BIOS Flashing]

Then prepare the USB key with the tool and proceed with the same steps as usual.

As usual:
The tool will auto detect the BIOS and will enable ME-FW flashing if the board is supported and will auto flash with the tool's own ME-FW based on the BIOS/Board detection.
(Own ME-FW base versions can be seen in the Tool's main GUI)
Or you can load your own desired /custom ME-FW to flash instead of Tool's ME-FW.

  1. But will skip BIOS flashing and will flash ME-FW directly.
  2. (When "Skip BIOS Flashing" Option has been check marked before preparing the USB key).

  3. By default => If the [Skip BIOS Flashing] is not selected prior USB key preparation,
  4. then as usual the tool will flash both BIOS & ME-FW** at once for supported mainboards.
** Where the ME-FW can be either Tool's own ME-FW or your own custom loaded ME-FW.

What should my next troubleshooting steps be?

What hardware you have?
Are you having issue when you try to boot from USB key or?

Try a different USB key, or/and reformat the USB key and retry.
Or try booting from the same USB key in another PC for test purpose only.

Oki, also make sure Secure Boot is Disable in BIOS Setup.

Update:
Been tested more detailed again on A320 32MBit BIOS,
It's turn out that upgrade BIOS worked fine,
but downgrade causes a brick.

So I've excluded any those old 3xx AMD board series as supported by the tool. (except X399 models)
Important:
Do NOT use it on a MSI AMD boards from 3xx boards Series. [like X370/B350/A320]
(its OK to use for X399 AMD model only as 3xx exception)

It's OK to use for any other newer than [X370/B350/A320] MSI AMD boards or Intel boards.

I tried to flash an older version of Intel ME - the program asked me if I really wanted to flash the older version. But then she wrote that it is impossible to flash a version older than the one installed now.

Is there any possibility to flash an older version of Intel ME?

ME_16.1.38.2676.bin to ME_16.1.35.2557.bin for MSI MAG Z790 TOMAHAWK WI-FI

What is this program window for?

It's depends of platform's configuration if allows ME-FW downgrades.

ME_16.1.38.2676.bin to ME_16.1.35.2557.bin for MSI MAG Z790 TOMAHAWK WI-FI

What's the point of such downgrade?

What is this program window for?

This window shows the Tool's internal ME-FW ver. that will be auto flashed by default along with BIOS,
for the supported mainboards.

When you load your BIOS that you going to flash,
if the BIOS is supported,
the light in this window will blink in a different colour,
depends if the ME-FW ver. inside the BIOS you loaded,
is older, same or newer version than tool's ME-FW ver..

Is there any possibility to flash an older version of Intel ME?

If the platform's config don't allow ME-FW downgrades,
and you want to do such downgrade due some reason,
then use the flash button to do that.

И вы хотите осуществить такое понижение версии по какой-то причине?
I'm trying to determine when problems with the game War Thunder began in the form of periodic freezes. This started back in September.
I'm trying to return the computer to the state it was in before the problems with the game started.
It was possible to flash the old BIOS version, but not Intel ME.

The problem is not caused by the video card, not the power supply, and most likely not the memory.

I suspect that the motherboard is not working properly.

Doubt that ME-FW has anything to do with such issue.
Best open a new topic in correct forum area for troubleshooting and also provide a full system specs, when posting in there.

hi! i just wanted to thank you for this tool
im unsure if this was necesseraly a coincidence or not but i had an issue with my h610m-e ddr4 motherboard where on newer bios versions realtek audio controller would just disappear for no reason.
the chip would just not boot at all for no reason. and i was stuck on older version mainly those of AC0 and below (iirc its been a long time)
using your tool to flash a bios by first mflashing a functioning bios version then using your tool to flash a newer bios version fixed my audio!
now i have both a new ME driver + new bios version
:-)P and i also was able to furhter tighten my ram timings too so that's a plus)
unsure why this worked but it did and im really greatful for thhis tool :D

Hey Svet, thanks for all the work on this tool!

I’m trying to cross-flash my locked OEM Codex 3 board (MS-B913) to the retail H310M PRO-M2 (MS-7B28) so I can finally get NVMe boot working and maybe upgrade to a better CPU.
I'm using v1.81 to flash from my current EB913IMS.E00 BIOS to the retail E7B28IMS.AE0. The tool detects everything perfectly and passes the checksums, but the AMI flasher aborts with this:
1e - Error: Secure Flash function is not supported on this file.
Since this is an OEM board, is there a custom parameter or a specific version of the flasher I need to bypass this lock? Appreciate any help you can give!
