You need to boot under Legacy mode from the USB key [not UEFI]

Then the USB key isn't prepared with the tool96.
It need to be formatted in plain standard FAT32 [MBR]
then tool96 should install the necessary things on it.

i bypassed the problem:,

i saved the files tool96 created
using rufus did an mbr partition with freedos
copied back the files
tried to flash both the bios.bin and the E7673IMS.540 and i get error ROMID is not compatible with existing bios ROMID

That's not how to use it.
No need to run any commands manually.
The tool96 should not be copied on the usb key, but used for preparation.
Re-read the usage instructions

originally i formatted fat32 trough wiondows
after the last attempt i deleted the drive (was already rufus formatted)
run tool96 again and everything worked

The tool is not compatible with this new board. It's not indented for your board.

Not tried this myself in a very long time But try via windows with a Bios flash tool
Or via standalone Boot loader flash tool

Hi Svet,
Can i use this tool to move from an OEM BIOS to the retail BIOS. I have the same issue as this topic you posted in before: ( Which Bios? | MSI Global English Forum )
I just posted in there too but I read further and wound up here.
Trying to move to the newest BIOS for my x570 MEG ACE from Current: E7C35AZ1.1Z5 to NEW: E7C35AMS.1M0
Thanks, let me know if I'm in the right place.

I have a MSI A320M PRO-M2 V2. It had the original BIOS on it. I updated the BIOS to 7B84v361. Now it has a generic-looking BIOS screen without Easy Mode or Advanced Mode options. It won't let me install 7B84v30 which I think is the original BIOS version that had Easy and Advanced modes along with Secure Erase. Will this USB tool work with it?

You mean to flash back from 361 to 300?

Yes. Just need to have the Easy & Advanced modes back. I use the Secure Erase a lot to clear off hard drives for clients.
Aha.
For this new class board, is a different tool:
>>Forum UEFI Shell Flash Tool<<

Extracted files to hard drive along with the wrongly named "7B84v30" file to get the 300 BIOS version. Made the UEFI Flash USB stick, booted from it, and all is well now. Why would MSI make the BIOS not as good as the older version is beyond me.
Probably because there is not enough space in the rom for all and newest stuffs.
[support for some CPUs are also removed with the latest version too]

I recently updated the B450M-PRO-M2 BIOS https://ua.msi.com/Motherboard/B450M-PRO-M2/support to the latest version (7B84v2I - I also tryed the latest beta - but it absolutely unstable) with 2400g CPU
- but the computer is not stable, it is impossible to roll back through the BIOS to previous versions, is there any Is there a way to install previous versions of the BIOS?
I want to install 7B84v25 - (without new CPU support)
