Recently bought "GF63 Thin 10SCXR-485", and I've been having issues where it will freeze completely (No CTRL+ALT+DEL, no mouse movement, sound becomes a droning buzz)
Only way to break this freeze is to hold power button, and it gives no error reports afterwards.
It has happened as recently as last night, (was playing a game from steam "Hell let loose" and I noted the temp was only in the 70's at the time it locked up.)
I have had this happen before after about 1 week of owning it and ended up doing a factory reset, this seemed to stop it for a bit but if it occurs while playing a game it will start happening more during less difficult tasks like a Youtube video or email.
I was considering getting a cooling pad but it doesn't look like the temps are too high? I've got my drivers all up to date, does anyone know what might be causing this?
Thanks

My GS 66 Stealth does the exact same thing and all i have done is type documents and search internet. Who do we contact for help ?

Hi,
Have you ever check about BIOS / EC version? Try turn on Dragon Center and turn on User scenario to Extreme performance.

This looks dangerous, is this the only way I can fix this? Seems like I run an equal chance of destroying my device.

No, update BIOS and EC versions is to prevent more problems happen. I have known many user's problems from this. Old BIOS/EC maybe affect your gaming experience.
I recommend you do this. If you still feel unsafe, ask your friend who has experienced in computers.

I am also having the same issue and I think I know the cause " Windows cannot load the extensible counter DLL "C:\WINDOWS\system32\sysmain.dll" (Win32 error code The specified module could not be found.)." I found it in the event log with a error sign. Any solutions ?

CMD as admin
dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

after this reboot
CMD as admin
sfc.exe /scannow

or new system installation / or build upgrade repairs some missing dll
last is 21h2 -1387 now "winver" ,.write this on START
and will see what is possitible

//
chkdsk c: /f
fix disk errors! and verify that you are using washed drivers ! "RST or AHCI" or + NVME drivers
bad drivers - most often disk errors / system corruption "random missing files"

Hi all. Had the same issue on a GF63 Thin 11UC. Writing from Italy so I'm sorry for my bad English writing. After 8 month of good job suddenly the notebook started freezing and I had to hold down power button to poweroff and then restart the notebook. The notebook now won't start. I had a freezed situation more times and at the last one time after holding down the power off button, retrying to start it, makes the notebook to light-on the keyboard and start fan for about 1 second. Then the notebook poweroff automatically... I'm really disappointed... and asked for assistance. I hope that with a BIOS update they will solve and that it is not a motherboard issue...
