Hello forum,

since i changed my cpu from AMD Ryzen 3900X to 5800X on the MSI X570 Tomahawk Wifi a fresh Windows 10 installation does not allow to encrypt my bootdrive (GPT) with bitlocker.

I use bios version 7C84v14 (released on 4th of november 2020).

I'm wondering if this is an error in the bios since it worked flawlessly with my 3900X but not with 5800X.

fTPM is activated in the bios.

Maybe s.o. can help me out. thx

It might be worth asking AMD if a ftpm is currently included in the 5000 series feature set.

Take a look at my second picture. Bios 142 is older than 140. It was not available with both bios versions but i did not take a screenshot earlier.

Going from V142 to V150 instead of V142 to V140 would have made way more sense and both were released on the same day just several hours apart

I'm having the same issue with the same motherboard (MSI Tomahawk x570 wifi) and processor (5800x) on BIOS version 151. It was previously working with a Ryzen 3800x and BIOS version 120.

Did anybody have any luck making this work again?

Yes. It seems to be another BIOS bug. When I reloaded defaults, reflashed the bios (yes.. don't ask), loaded defaults again, the TPM was recognized and I was able to use Bitlocker. Not sure what triggered the bug and what actually fixed it, but Bitlocker is finally working here on the 151 bios (different board btw, B550 Carbon Wifi, but that does not seem to make a difference). The 151 BIOS has a LOT of bugs.
