G3 Ti200 Pro VT - TV Out & nView?

Hello all. I have the above card, and, as it seems with most people, I can't get TV out to work. I want to use the card for video editing and have managed to get Video In working fine.

I have tried 21.83, 28.32 & 30.82 drivers but I am unable to select TV as the output device in the device selection window.

People have been saying to click on nView and select 'clone' but nView doesn't appear in any of the display windows and when I search file for nView, all I find is a .DLL file & a .DL_ file.

I have also read that I might need to flash my BIOS. Can someone please explain what this means and how to do it.

I've sent emails to MSI support for help but they don't seem to know what support means.

Please help,

Thanks.

dgsar1,

What is the OS you are using? If it is WinXP, have you tried the Detonator 40.41 Drivers from nVidia?

Good Luck,

Richard

Interesting, i have the same card.. 128mb version.
although i haven't actually tried hooking it up to a tv, i noticed that i don't have this nView tab either, thought it would show up only after a tv was connected?

I can enable desktop manager, which then lets me use the nview desktop manager, but i still don't get an nview tab in the display properties.. the one where u can choose clone or span options and that stuff.

using WinXP Pro SP1
det 40.41 / wdm 1.16

I've come to the conclusion that the MSI 8851 GF3Ti200 TV out function is not supported by the Detonator 40.41 drivers. I can get the TV button to become selectable by repeatedly clicking Detect Displays, but then when I click apply it doesn't go to the TV at all, just flickers the screen and changes my monitor resolution from 1024x768 to something less. I am using an S video cable.
Guess we'll have to wait for another update, unless someone has any other ideas for me. Feel free to post 'em or message me. Thanks.

I've finally got video out working. The problem is, I'm not sure exactly what I did to get it working. I reloaded the original drivers that came with the card and then I loaded everything else that was on the disk. There were some files that did not come up under the MSI main menu. One of those files must have fixed it but I'm not sure which one.

If you have the same problem, then you might get lucky like I did. :p 8o :D

dgsar1,

Congrats!

If you figure out what you did to actually fix your problem, please report back. I am sure people with similar problems will benefit from it.

Take Care,

Richard

P.S. Now that your problem is solved I hope you will still hang out and become part of the community.

:O

Hello everyone!

YES, the original drivers shipped with the GF3Ti200/VT work perfectly with the TV-Out.
YES, newer drivers do not work with it.

The problem is the detection of the right tv encoding chip. The 8850 has the Philips 7102 chip on board and the original drivers detect it.
But newer drivers above 23.11 detect the Conexant Bt868!!!

I'm from Germany and called the local MSI support.
They told me that there is still no solution for this problem... and that was in april !!!!

And after six months since my call NOTHING has
happened to solve this SERIOUS problem...!

My question to the MSI support is:

When are you going to SOLVE it? Next year?

YES, I'm already seriously sad and angry about it.

I hope someone of the support crew reads this...
because all I can read in this forum from them is that you should make a bios update with their live updater or check your OS!?!

YES, you're the support and you should know about your products and its problems...

Sorry, I find it really inconvenient that after six months nothing happened...

So, please help me and all the other people out there to fix this problem.

Thank you,
gorgon
