G4ti4200 card bad?? help

Hi all, I need a little help. I've got a MSi 4200 card that I can't get to run. I have a Gigabyte mb. I thought at first it was the mb since it has issues with GF4 cards. I rma'd the mb and finally after a month it returned yesterday.
What it does is the computer boots up fine till the first Windows screen appears. Then that screen freezes. The hard drive continues on and the computer finishes booting, but still stuck on the Windows screen. I've even bought another mb, an ECS one.. Does the very same thing. I can put my old Gf2mx in and its fine. I've played around with every setting in the bios I can find, with no difference.
Any ideas??? Bad card??

check your psu is capable of supplying 200 watts at least on the combined 3.3 and 5 v

read more in good articles if this makes no sense to you

Still no luck. I've emailed the support department but they haven't replied. Should it take a week to reply to this?

what make etc is this psu

ive seen some no better than a 275 watt enermax

whats the details on the side of it

well its roughly 190 or so below the 200

you sure it does not state a combined

i suggest take it back and get a known good brand

that states the combined is over 200


also try here with people who know your motherboard

there may be things they can tell youlink

hello,

I had the same problem as u witht he screen started flickerin. this is what i did.. I tought it was my puter so i tried it in my other back up and it worked. It worked for 5 min then it started teh flickern stuff. I like wtf is this. I put it back in my other puter turn it on and it worked. After about 5 min agin it started the flickerin. So i took the case of my cpu and put a fan by it. Sure enought it works now. I think the card has a defect with the heat displacement in my opion. I've seen lots of post about the same as yours. No guys my fan isn't clogged as i do have 1 120mm fan for exhast, 2 80 mm fans and 2 pci slot fans with 1 of them being exhast. I also have a minion imt 4000 case with vents on the sides. The probelm is heat and its hard to fix. But the fan did the trick with the ac. I too am waitin on a reply from tech its been about a week also. I hope this helps.
