Hi,

I'm just wondering if there's anyway to stop my cpu frequency changing when I'm gaming?
The stock clock of my cpu is 4Ghz.  When I start my computer it stays at 4Ghz but when I start Flight Sim X it is constantly changing from as little as 800Mhz to 4Ghz.  I just want my cpu to stay at 4ghz no matter what. Can this be done?

Thanks

Daniel

Hi,

Go into BIOS OC settings, set "Advanced Mode" and there is CPU [some name] (sorry don't remember exactly) and change from "Dynamic" to "Fixed Mode" and see if it helps.
This might also be throttling.  Are temps ok while gaming?

Ok will see and try.  Temps usual whilst gaming go up to a max of 99c.

thank you

These are WAY too high  :nooo:

Get aftermarket cooler. Remove OC. Now you know it's throttling.. 72C is the max you should aim at.

I have already order a water cooling from corsair to stop that problem.  As for the dynamic to fixed there is nothing that says dynamic. There is a cpu ratio which is set to auto but it won't let me change that.

Ok, cool, AiO's from Corsair are pretty decent.

And to change from Auto, us + and -. But I suggest you don't play any games until you change cooler.

I have changed it to fixed but still the frequency keeps changing from 800mhz to 4.0ghz, I have cpu-z installed and in multiplier it says (8-40)?

It will say that. Though your temps are not fine and it just seems to throttle down.

Most likely yes. Also it's something to do with C-State which can be disabled in BIOS.
