Hello,

I am trying to install MSI Gaming Intelligence X64 0.0.2.82 Release 2024-11-15 for the purpose of updating firmware on MSI MPG 271QRX monitor.

The installation begins and then thinks it sees another instance of the installation and returns the error below. So, I Run Task Manager and see there are no other existing installation process running. I delete the installation files (original ZIP and the Extracted), reboot, download new installation files, extract and run MSI Gaming Intelligence setup again. Same error.

What am I missing?

Hi
Is that executed as an Admin?
What I would try is create another Windows user/profile and see if the same happens there.
Also I'd scan the system for any viruses (etc). And double check that your antivirus (or MS defender) isn't blocking the app.

Installation of the Gaming Intelligence app had same problem when run as administrator. Same error 1618 message returned about another instance of the installation. But there is none.
Thanks for trying to help.

Incredibly strange. What other software do you have running? Have you tried shutting them all down?

Nothing else. This is a brand new windows 11 build gaming PC. I have steam installed, but not running. There were zero other processes running except a web browser when I ran the Gaming Intelligence installation. I have a network engineering and programming background, this makes no sense.

I see. Well best I can suggest in this case is you ask MSI about it.
By the way, is the monitor plugged in with USB? Have you tried with / without it?
