I have an GE60 0NC/GE60 0ND laptop with the following memory:

Code:
Memory: RAM: total: 15.52 GiB used: 13.42 GiB (86.5%)
Array-1: capacity: 32 GiB slots: 4 EC: None max-module-size: 8 GiB note: est.
           Device-1: ChannelA-DIMM0 size: 8 GiB speed: 1600 MT/s type: DDR3 manufacturer: Kingston part-no: 99U5428-063.A00LF
Device-2: ChannelA-DIMM1 size: No Module Installed
           Device-3: ChannelB-DIMM0 size: 8 GiB speed: 1600 MT/s type: DDR3 manufacturer: Kingston part-no: 99U5428-063.A00LF
Device-4: ChannelB-DIMM1 size: No Module Installed
There are only 2 physical slots though.

I need to upgrade the RAM even further so try to use (16GB x 2) for 32 GB which should be OK, at least from a processor standpoint, according to this.

However, MSI states here that max memory is 16GB.

I am trying to determine, once and for all, if this laptop will recognize 32GB (16GB x 2) and if so what exact RAM I need to get, which exact specifications. I know it's DDR3 but there are many different variations. For example, the speed I currently have is 1600 MT/s but can it take higher speeds, etc.?

I have seen this thread as well but it is not conclusive.

Thanks for any helpful feedback.

I guess MSI only test up to 16GB RAM model, if you need to upgrade RAM to 32G, you have to take the compatible risk by yourself.

Maybe the CPU can handle it, but that doesn't mean that the Mobo can.
I doubt very much that it will work.
