GE620 - Swap optical drive?

I just bought a MSI GE620!
First impressions is that it's really nice.
Wondering if there's a way to swap out the DVD drive to a Bluray drive and if so, how to do it.
Also, I can see there's a warranty void sticker on the bottom of the unit. Do I need to open that panel to swap the DVD drive?
 
is there a service manual for this laptop? (some companies out there put all their disassembly guides for everyone to see...)
i see a screw on the bottom... is that to remove the drive?
 
Yes you can open your notebook up but if you damage something while at the process MSI will void your warranty. Also yes we got guides :) Here: https://forum-en.msi.com/moderator/assembly-guides/ge600-dissassemble.pdf

Also this is just GE600 probably just some processor difference. I'm not responsible if while you are at the process you void your warranty.
 
awesome! thanks for the guide! it's really just that one screw.
i'll probably get an external usb blu ray drive... it's about the same price as an internal slim blu ray drive & i don't have to worry about damaging anything!
