i didn't write that it is only for pc. I just don't know how it behaves in a laptop with intel gen 12 cpu... personally, i use honeywell in gp76 with i7 11800h. At the moment I know that lenovo is also using in its laptops with intel gen 12 still Honeywell PTM7950 (5 pro 2022 and 7i/7)

Which settings for fan /thermal in Bios have you adjusted in order to make the rig quiet?

this is what i got in bios in thermals, in TS i have set my PL1 at 30W PL2 45W, and I am sometimes using disable turbo while doing lightest tasks (my fan curve You already know)

Just realized, that the best way to reduce the temps is simpy by increasing the TCC. Then you dont limit the cpu in turbo/speed or in Power. Which leads to way better gaming performance and also keeps temp in range. I made a comparison with far cry 6 ultra settings benchmark with following

Tcc 5
Avg fps 94

Tcc 20
Avg fps 92

As you can see fps only a bit less but cpu stays under 82°C all the time(with tcc5 it reaches 100°). For sure the cpu throttles more but isn't this better to throttle at 80° at around 3.7-4ghz instead of limiting the speed/power in the first step?

In some games yes. It dont do much difference. Tried it. In some games it throttled to base clock and about 15-20fps less. So not a good solution

You can buy different thicknesses in bulk sheet and cut your own. Sheets i ordered were 12"x12".

I am thinking of repasting my machine now. As it is thermal throttling even if cpu dont hit TjMax i assume something must be wrong with thermal paste on cpu or VRMs. For CPU/GPU i will use TG Kryonout and for all others the K5 Pro. Is this a good option and can i expect some improvement compared to the stock pasting?

So this TPM7950 Pads should be used instead of TG Kryonout? From the specs TG should be better, but dont know about the lifespawn of it compared to the TPM.

Two weeks. Faced w/ the issue since beginning. Games are not that greedy.. far cry6, tomb raider etc..

Enter bios / advanced bios

1st enable overclock feature

2 enter power & performance menu, enter CPU power management control, scroll to bottom and enter ”cpu lock configuration” and make ”overclock lock” (disabled)

go back one step and scroll up and enter ”view/configure turbo options” Then enter ”turbo ratio limit options” scroll down and change all the ”numcore” values to 0 (zero)

etc numcore0, numcore1, numcore2-7 all should be value zero ”0”

save, restart and Open throttlestop

This works. I have new bios

after this FIVR is enabled in throttlestop

Hi to everyone, i re-paste my ge66 12700h many times with different brands, best results are with thermalright tfx at moment. Test performed with throttlestop, if i set pl1/pl2 to 45w my cpu stay on 59°(Before repaste 66°). But if i set default value for pl1/pl2 when start testing always reaching 96° in pl2 (as usual) at 113w but after he is setting in pl1 at 70w automatically, and temps are around 85°, no thermal throttling in pl1, my question is why in pl1 is automatically set on 70w if maybe with my temps i can have little more, maybe 80w? There is no way to increase pl1 even if i set 80w in bios is going automatically down to 70w. Someone could explain that?

Pads is same like paste but is "ready to go" and have always 0,2mm thickness. Pads dissolve at 45℃. Normal PTM paste requires drying (1 hour) after application before mounting cooling system.

Ok i was asking because i ordered the same thermal pads and im curious to know your temps. At moment i repasted with thermalright tfx and i have good improvement compared to stock paste. But i read in many post that ptm7590 pads are better than thermal paste.

So after alot of thinking i repasted with TG Kryonout. Same settings as before. PL1/PL2 45w and all cores max 4,1ghz in throttlestop.

Temp change

Before Max:
Gpu:74c
CPU:96c

After Max:
Gpu:71c
Cpu:86c

(Throttlestop report 83c but afterburner and hw monitor report 86c)

When playing games avg temp is around 63-65c. Even after a coupe of hours.

No more spikes. And no more loud fans in Windows. They never spin up like before when watching youtube etc.

The factory pastejob was a Joke really. No wonder the temps before.

I run manual fancurve. Stock setting with the change of the first 2 in CPU to 25% to always have fan running.

Games are alot more quiet now. Fans run much slower AND temps are lower.
