Hi, I just bought my first PC the other day and I chose an MSI GeFORCE Ti 4200 128 mb video card. I am trying to figure out how to connect my Nintendo Gamecube to the card so I can play it on my monitor. So far I have bought an svideo cable for my cube and connected it to the adapter that goes in the video-in port on the back of my card. THIS IS ALL I KNOW of what to do.

Can someone please tell me what to do now? I don't know if I need to run a program that accesses the card and receives the signal from my cube or what? Please help thx. :baby:

ummmm i never knew u could run a Cude thought your gfx card to get it on ur monitor?! wouldnt it just be easier to run it on ur TV.. i mean thats wot its designed for :p

Yo Doomie there are a couple of reasons. Screen shots/ video capture. Also I don't have an Svideo TV so my monitor will give me better color/resolution etc. kthx.

Anyone know how to use the video in?? Thats basically all I want to know.

oh fair enough... oh and if u look at anyoher resent thread on this forum theres someone trying to do the same thing with this psx...

Best of luck getting it working

Breast Feeder,

When you get it working, please post how you did it. I am sure it will help people in the future.

Good Luck,

Richard

P.S. The thread Doomie was refering to is this one Video Input.

You need basicly to install tghe WDM capture driver (on the CD or driver page) and install winproducer that came with your card.
Then you can view the SVideo input on the monitor.

(well, that's the basic information, I didn't actually try doing it myself so for the small details I am uselesss :( :p )

Well, almost there. I got the capture driver and installed it then I restarted my computer. Then my computer notified me that it found new hardware...no problems yet. Then it asked me to install the Windows XP disk to find files that it needed to install the new hardware. Here's the problem: there are some stupid files that it can't find on my disk. One so far is called like mysul.dll or something and its supposed to be in a driver.cab file that I can't find. Also there was this system.sys file too. Ah man was I choked! So close and yet so far. Ah well, after work my friend is gonna try and help me out.

Is there any way I can download this drivers.cab file from the net? ;(

Thank you for being so helpful Deathstalker. I checked out the Microsoft Knowledge Base and found some things I can try to get the files I need to run the video capture drivers and get the hardware set up. I'll try it when I get home and let you know what happens. Thanks again.

SUCCESS!!!

Yeah, I got my Gamecube running on my computer now. All I had to do was download the capture drivers for my card and then get them loaded on my computer. I did have to use my XP professional disk to load drivers when my comp ideentified the new hardware. That was a big hassle because it was totally confusing. Now I have a new question:

How do I run the video in on fullscreen with Winproducer? The view choices only go 1x and then 2x is disabled.

I did download a freeware video capture program called FLYCAP but it wont let me take screen shots... It does let you resize the screen to whatever you want but...

Anyone know how to get fullscreen on Wionproducer?
Thanks. :))
