GF4MX440 problem

my system is:

ASUS A7A266 w/ latest bios
AMD AthlonXP 1800+
512mb DDR memory
WIN98SE

The problem I'm having is when I install the card and boot up nothing happens. The monitor is not recognized and the fan on the card doesn't even work. I have connected everything properly and double checked.

I connected it up to a different computer using an ASUS Intel motherboard and it worked fine.

I think it seems to be a problem with my motherboard, is there anything I can do to fix it? Or is it something else? Please help.

go in the asus motherboard section and post

there is one msi boasrd will not work with a 4mx

you have to send it to msi to be changed

perhaps that is the case with asus i do not knowlink

wierd.....i suggest you try windows 2000
when i'm starting windows 98 (same card) windows crashes

GF4 MX (not the Ti) are known to be a bit funky on some VIA chipsets, I expect the Ali chipset is even worse than the VIA which is probobly the problem you are having.

You should try and update the bios first (be sure you know what you are doing!).
