Hi everyone,

I need some advice regarding a thermal issue on my laptop. I sent it to the official service (ServisPoint Turkey) for maintenance on 18.05.2026.

Just 2.5 months after the service, the laptop has started instantly shutting down due to thermal throttling/overheating as soon as any game or heavy workload is launched.

Here are the current idle statistics:

  • CPU Usage: %5 - %14
  • CPU Power Draw: Only ~3 Watts
  • Idle Temperature: 56°C - 60°C (spikes up to 76°C randomly)
  • Cooler Boost: Turning Cooler Boost ON (100% fan speed) barely drops the temperature from 60°C to 57°C.
Even though this is a thin-chassis laptop, having 57°C-60°C idle temps at merely 3 Watts with 100% fan speed clearly points to a physical assembly issue—likely improper heatsink mounting pressure or severe thermal paste pump-out.

Has anyone experienced a loose heatsink/mounting screw issue right after an official service visit? I have already opened a support ticket to MSI Global with screenshots attached.
