I ve recently upgraded my tnt2 vanta 8 meg a new msi g4 4200 video card 64meg. WHen I try out the video card with Unrealtournament, the game will usually locks up when I play for a while, and I would be forced to poweroff my computer and turn it on again. My settings with my new video card are 1024*768*32 with everything on high. When I had my tnt2 vanta, I put it on 800*600*16 with medium settings and the game runs without any problems. Please help.

My system's specs are Amd Duron 700, 448 megs of ram, sound blaster live, and the g4 4200.

Hi,

For UT,

1. Make sure you're not using the old unrealtournament.ini file ( you may have saved this file before you reformatted)

2. You should run UT in "Compatibility mode" for Windows 2000 or Windows 98. I found that UT doesn't like XP very much, but runs nicely in Compat. mode.

3. If D3D is unstable, then try the OpenGL mode. It works well and the frame rates are a lot higher than D3D. You should download the latest OpenGLdrv.dll file and update your unrealtournament.ini file to take advantage of the improvements.
