Hi,

I have an MSI notebook, and am currently overseas.  It's less than 12 months old, so is still eligible for the Global warranty.  Unfortunately, MSI USA tells me that my notebooks is still under warranty, the purchase date was May 2016 and issued an RMA.  They also recommended I contact MSI Japan to have it serviced in Japan rather than send it accross the Pacific.  So when I contact MSI Japan, they are telling me warranty expired March 30 (two weeks ago, go figure!).  It's extremely frustrating to hear different stories from the same company.  When I log on my account, via the USA website or Japan website, they both tell me the Purchase date was May 15, 2016.  But direct contact with Japan tech tells me March.  I no longer have the receipt.  USA tells me they have no contact with Japan, Japan tells me to have USA forward them the information.  So what do I do?  The fan on the right side is buzzing and seems as if it's coming loose or the bearings are shot.

Thank you for advice.

Hi mystyneq,

This is a volunteer user-to-user forum---we're just users like you. MSI does not participate here. If I were in your shoes, I would ship it to the service center that says it's still under warranty. Which in this case, sounds like the U.S. service center. I wouldn't delay.

If you want to contact MSI directly, you need to use the "Service" link at the top of this webpage. You'll see an "Ask a Question" link in the lower left of the Service webpage (under the red "Need Help?").

Kind regards, David
