Got a new PC and ethernet port is not working. Driving me nuts

Have tried so many different things, and it's driving me nuts. Including downloading drivers from MSI website. It won't recognize the eth cord. I know the cord works though. Another odd thing.. when I put turn the pc pff, the orange/yellow light flashes, but when I turn the pc on, it goes away. Any help would be appreciated. Motherboard is a Z690 Pro a Wifi ddr4. The site I bought it from wants to do an RMA.. but man that's gonna be a pain. Posted this in another area on the forums, but think it might have been in the wong section

need more information! do you see your network card in device manager (under network adapter)? do you have driver installed properly?
How about the Wireless connection? would you be able to connect to any hotspot?
Lastly, can you check your MAC address? If it's all FF-FF...., it means something is wrong
Type "ipconfig /all" in command prompt and it should tell you
