I found a more recent driver than MSI's most recent release.
I'm not sure what is going on with MSI and driver updates. AMD just released a major driver update for RDNA 3 and above (including our RDNA 3.5-based Ryzen Z2 Extreme), speeding up game loads, and FSR4 on RDNA 3.5 is due in June-July. The lack of any update from MSI is pretty mediocre.
Anyway, if you really want an updated driver, you can do this at your own risk. I messed about, borke my handheld, and fixed it all for science! Onward!
First step is to download some stuff. Download the graphics driver for the Lenovo Go 8ASP2:
(Optional) Also download the graphics driver for the Asus ROG Xbox Ally X:
rog.asus.com
Lenovo driver (Released early April 2026)
Run the installer for the Lonovo graphics driver, and when you get the option, choose "extract only". It should extract to C:\DRIVERS\AMDGraphics.
Open up device manager, find your GPU under display adapters AMD Radeon(TM) 890M Graphics and update the driver (right click, update driver, or click the button up top).
Select "Browse..."
Select "Let me pick..."
Click "Have Disk..."
Click "Browse..."
Navigate to C:\DRIVERS\AMDGraphics\20262205.22275881\Display\WT6A_INF and click amduw23e.inf
Your GPU model should be selected automagically, if not, select AMD Radeon(TM) 890M Graphics
Windows will warn you about compatibility, who cares.
Reboot.
Check the AMD software, you should see a "Lenovo" suffix on your driver version under the cog, and system, Software & Driver Details.
Asus driver (optional)
This driver does not actually work, the Xbox ally probably has different Z2 Extreme (it has the AI or whatever). Do not manually install the driver.
Instead, we're going to use this installer to update some other driver component. Just run it and perform a normal install. The package will not overwrite the lenovo driver above, but if you check the AMD software you will notice that OpenCL updates to the newer 5004 driver. I have no idea what this does.
