GRUB2 error cannot get c/h/s values

Hi,

I just got a new msi p55-gd80 motherboard and went to install ubuntu 9.10 to the computer. The installation went great with no errors at all, but when I went to boot the new install I'm getting the error message "cannot get c/h/s values". Do you guys have any idea why I'm getting this error message and what I can do to fix it?

Anybody got any ideas?

Just to update I tried ubuntu 9.04 and everything went smoothly.  It appears the issue is related to grub2 however I have no idea what the issue is!
