Hi,

I have a GS75 Stealth that I bought in July and I fear it may be sick.

Using USB-C power from a Dell dock doing some web browsing and on a MS Teams call, when my fans spun up to full speed. I didn't notice due to being on the call, but it ran for about 5 minutes before I realised. I couldn't see why the fans were full throttle - task manager showed no abnormal activity and I wasn't running any games. MSI User Scenario was Balanced.

I rebooted and the power LED stayed amber and flashed green once every 5 seconds. The fan was emitting a gravel like sick sound. I started to feel ill also thinking the worst. I unplugged from USB-C (Dell dock) and the LED changed from flashing amber/green to flashing white/amber and the bad fan sound stopped. After a few minutes (on battery only) the LED stabilised to white only and no bad fan noise.

Plugged the USB-C (Dell dock) back in and no fan anomalies, but the LED cycled white and amber. I moved over to the non-charge USB C still using the dock and plugged in the power supply. Power LED stayed solid white and the charge went up to 99% and stating 6mins until fully charged. It's taken 15mins but battery now reporting 100% charge.

Other things that may impact behaviour:
• I just updated to latest Windows 10 last night
• I don't actually do a lot of gaming so run in balanced mode mostly
• I'm in England and it isn't very warm (20'C in the house)

I've been using USB-C charging for the last 5 weeks and no issues. Battery life has always been disappointing (lucky if I get two hours of just web browsing on Silent User Scenario in the MSI Dragon Center. I've not charged from the main power supply for a number of weeks.

Any insight/guidance would be gratefully accepted.

Thanks,

Scott

No issues with the AC adapter plugged in. Shall update BIOS and EC as not done that since purchase. Thanks for the advice - I'll report back.
