I lowered the graphics on the game already (Which is disappointing since I bought this laptop due to the 3070 card).
But even so, main menu shouldn't be causing it to overheat past 90.
MSI monitoring says it was at 25%cpu and 38% GPU but the temps are jumping between 70-90.
This was also happening when I was downloading ark itself. It appears the laptop is cranking itself all the way up to the point that it begins to overheat then throttles itself.

So here is my question. :Is there anything I can fiddle with in the settings of the laptop to keep it from working itself to the ground. I don't mind a little performance drop, but kicking up to 90 degrees temp when you're on the main menu of a game doesn't seem right.
I can't really get a refund anymore since its been past the time. (and theyll probably charge alot for restocking fee, and I would lose that warranty extension i paid for)

Always use COOLER BOOST when gaming, buy a laptop stand/cooler.
If you use extreme performance mode, the CPU will always be ready for turbo mode, thus having always higher mhz.
You can use apps like ThrottleStop or XTU to control your PC, by undervolting, restrict power and mhz.
Normal temperatures should be in the low 90s when gaming, if using an app and stand/cooler with COOLER BOOST activated.
You can always disable TURBO also, since using only 25% CPU and 38% GPU, it would run nice and cool.

Advanced BIOS, RIGHT SHIFT+RIGHT CTRL+LEFT ALT+F2
