GT62VR 7RE G-SYNC Not Working

Hi All,


I bought GT62VR 7RE laptop recently. Everything works perfect apart of G-SYNC. I have downloaded Nvidia's Gsync test tool (Pendulum) and clicked 60 FPS simulation and I can see tearing really bad!!

So What I tried;

- Removed all drivers with DDU and installed New drivers
- Bios Updated (Also all other drivers)
- Installed stock drivers from MSI web page 
- Update stock driver (also perform clean install) via GeForce Experience


I have attached tearing picture.

Does anyone having same or similar issues ?

Yes it's enabled. Also there is no option for turn off anyway.

There is a check box to disable it...

Make sure the Nvidia GPU is being used, force it in the Nvidia control panel
 
Yes. I just saw I can disable. Well anyway it's on and yes I'm using NVidia card.
 
Maybe you could use latest Help Desk to export the system info and post the text information in here.
 
OK I found one issue.

When I run games without power adaptor GSYNC Working fine with over 60 fps. When I plug the power cable, I can see tearing starts immediately. 

PS: I have turned off Nvidia's battery optimisation otherwise games run max 30 fps with battery and I can't test Gsync.

So, what is the problem ? Gysnc module ?

There is a bit of misconception on how G-Sync actually works. Any time your fps goes above the monitor refresh rate you are going to see tearing. In your case, simulating 60fps actually simulates around it so you'll end up tearing anytime the fps exceeds 60. The best way to mitigate this is to go to Nvidia control panel and do the following:
 
Go to 3D Settings -> Manage 3D settings -> Global Settings and make sure:
Monitor Technology is set to G-SYNC
Vertical sync is on (not Fast, not application setting)
 
Then go to Display -> Set-up G-SYNC and check that these two are set:
Enable G-SYNC
Enable G-SYNC for windowed and full screen mode.
 

Now test all of the demo modes (40 fps, 50 fps, 60fps, 40-60fps) and you should not see any tearing.
 
I am not sure this is correct. You're actually enabling VSYNC from Nvidia control panel. So what's the point having Gsync ?

 I had Gsync system before and don't have these problems.

Not sure what panel do you have? The Gsync function will only work with suitable panel.


But you could check the panel and support list with MSI.

"For enthusiasts, we?ve included a new advanced control option that enables G-SYNC to be disabled when the frame rate of a game exceeds the maximum refresh rate of the G-SYNC monitor. For instance, if your frame rate can reach 250 on a 144Hz monitor, the new option will disable G-SYNC once you exceed 144 frames per second. Doing so will disable G-SYNCs goodness and reintroduce tearing, which G-SYNC eliminates, but it will improve input latency ever so slightly in games that require lighting fast reactions."
?To use this new mode, set ?Vertical sync? to ?Off? on a global or per-game basis in the ?Manage 3D settings? section of the NVIDIA Control Panel. When your frame rate exceeds your monitor?s rated G-SYNC refresh rate, for example 144Hz, G-SYNC will be disabled.?

I hope this clears up how G-Sync works.
