Hey guys,

Just did some updates and now my keyboard won't light up. I uninstalled Steelseries Engine 3 and reinstalled. When I have Steelseries open and press the button to cycle through my keyboard light presets, the software shows the different presets but my keyboard remains dark. I tried to roll back the keyboard driver in device manager, as well as uninstalling it/disabling the device. All these changes caused my computer to blue screen and crash. I'm running Windows 10. I also went tried to download the EC update from the support section, but my keyboard is still dark.

Any tips on what I could try?
Thanks!

So your EC version is the latest one on MSI website?

To troubleshoot the keybaord backlight problem, there are some must-check steps.
1. Update the latest EC frimware
2. Do EC reset
3. Uninstall Steelseries Engine software, MSI System control manager (SCM)

EC reset:
Power off the notebook, unplug power cable, stab the battery reset hole on the back side for 1 minute. When finish, plugin power cable and power on the notebook.

Download the software on MSI website:

It seems that this is no longer a problem that the system can solve. But the backlight of the keyboard itself is a problem. Otherwise, the sequence of these operations is completely correct. The backlight color will also change.
