GT72 Dominator Pro - 980m GPU Problems - Code 43

So my dominator pro with 4980hq and 980m gtx is having an issue with the driver installation and a windows code 43 which is disabling the gpu in device manager:

"windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. Code 43"

Has anyone dealt with this problem. i've tried clean installs on both win 7 and win 10 and still get the same problem.  i can bootm into windows no problem and display looks perfect but the gpu is disabled.

i'm really hoping the gpu is not dead.  any help is appeciated.
 
Use latest Help Desk to export the system info and post the text information in here.


Do you mean the Nvidia GPU is gone? Try to use the [GPU switching button] to switch to Nvidia GPU.
 
It doesn't disappear from the device manager but after the driver is installed there is a triangle sign with an exclamation point and when i open up the properties of the device it states that windows cannot start the device because of Code 43. 

what i find strange is that i do not see the IGPU listed under the display adapters. should it be?
 
It is normal. There will be only one GPU shows up in Windows Device Manager.
 
Besides, I would really recommend posting the system info in here. Let other people know your system configuration and software environment.
 
For now, you could use [DDU] to remove the Nvidia driver.

Then, download/reinstall Nvidia VGA drivers from MSI website.
