GT72 VR 6RE WiFi/Bluetooth keeps shutting itself off.

WiFi and Bluetooth will just randomly shut itself off. There really isn't any rhyme or reason as to why this happens either. I will then spend a couple minutes to an hour + reinstalling drivers and restarting the computer until after some random combination things start working again. When the wifi or bluetooth shut off, the computer makes it seem like neither of these things ever existed at all (either won't appear when I try to view it in the settings). When I go to device manager, I can see bluetooth and wifi drivers only if I view hidden devices. When I try to update drivers, the hidden devices will say the most current version is installed but I'll often get an error 45 message. There doesn't seem to be anyway to turn these devices on through the computer.

So far, since buying an MSI laptop, I've spent more time troubleshooting  than playing games. If anyone can help me solve this problem permanently, I would be forever grateful.

hey since my last 2 laptop is ms? gaming series i ask you one question did you instaled a utility program name called('ms? SCM')if it is not just try to donwload and install this  because this app has direct controll over devices like bluetooth wabcam and wireless i gues if you does not have this program maybe its the source of your trouble

I suggest trying the Killer website for driver packages.

http://www.killernetworking.com/driver-downloads

I had a similar issue with the Killer Wireless 1435 on my GT72VR 6RD and ended removing the Killer Suite and installing just the drivers for networking and Bluetooth.

Hi dean-morton,

Use latest Help Desk to export the system info and post the text information in here.
As sinyalarit mentioned, you also could try to update latest Killer driver from following.

Here it is, although I'm not sure what can be done now. I reported the problem to MSI and they didn't even bother to troubleshoot. I just recieved an RMA and it looks like I'll be without a computer for 2 weeks minimum.

As per some recommendations here, I uninstalled Killer suite and reinstalled just the basic drivers. This got the bluetooth to operate again. Everything was fine for about 12 hours after this. I was doing some light internet browsing this afternoon with no issues, then soon as I wasn't paying attention both the WiFi and Bluetooth automatically shut off again. I restarted the computer a few times and neither would turn back on. I then decided to update the BIOS to the current version. Everything now works again (for the time being). I'm not sure that the EC reset even though I followed the directions (at least I think I did). EC seems the same, unless the numbers don't change. Re-posting my current system info below to see if the EC version seems fine or if I should try flashing the BIOS again? I'm also posting my connectivity log even though there's not much history to it yet. Let me know if I should be adding more info to track down the issue.

The system info shows that EC version is 1785EMS1.104. The latest one is 1785EMS1.107.

For now, looks like the problem didn?t show up after updating BIOS.

You might consider waiting for a longer period of time and updating EC later if the issue comes again..
